A Weekend in March

Oh, hello, Monday.
Come on in and let me tell you about my weekend.
{with very few photos this week}

We were busy this weekend, but still found some time for fun. I had to include this photo I took of Whiskers behind my empty wine glass. My Instagram caption was, "Gosh, Whiskers, I wish you could refill a wine glass!" The look on his face tells me he would refuse even if he was able.

The BIG news of the weekend is that we now have grass in our backyard - thanks to my hard working husband. Doug spent the better part of Saturday giving us an "instant" lawn {not that I call 8 hours of backbreaking work "instant" but...}. Oh.My.Gosh. It looks amazing!!! I'll be able to do a before-and-after backyard post soon and show you photos of it all put together.

Doug is a big kid at heart, and one of his favorite sandwiches is still a good ol' peanut butter and jelly. While he worked in the yard, I made him snacks and fetched drinks.

Carrie came over for dinner Saturday night and I took a photo of our table with three place settings - something we don't see often enough {in my opinion}. Then later that night Doug and I had a surprise visit from some friends of ours who were out for a bike ride and stopped by to say hello. It was so fun having them here and we made plans to get together again real soon.

Now, a couple of reminders:
  1. Don't forget about my turtle giveaway! Tomorrow is the last day to enter, and I'll be announcing the winner on Wednesday. Click here to enter... and
  2. It's not too late to sign up for my pot-luck-blog-hop scheduled for Saturday, March 24th. You can see the original post here. I hadn't thought of a theme before I put the idea out there, but Rinda mentioned it could be a bit of a housewarming party and I love that idea. We'll just go with that!
And in other news around here:
  • I got a job! Well, kind of. Right now it's a temporary position for the next 3-4 weeks and it's one that I can do from home so that's really cool, and it's for a company with a boss who is a joy and an honor to work with. Awesome!
  • My shoulder is kind of messed up again. I had a little car accident last week - a young girl rear-ended my car {she was about Carrie's age and I felt so sorry for her as she was so upset and apologetic}. It wasn't that bad so don't get excited, but it did tweak my shoulder a bit and has put me back down a few notches. Rats!
  • My mom and step-dad are coming to visit this week so we have a bunch of stuff to do around the house. SOOO excited to have them come to Arizona and spend some time with us.
Wishing each of you a week full of amazingness!
xo!

Hurray! for the job. Boo! for the shoulder. I hope the job lasts longer than you expect it will and that the shoulder pain lasts for a shorter time! That's not very grammatical, but I'm sure you know what I mean

Congratulations on the job that's great news. Not so good news about your shoulder though.

I love the expression on your cat's face :)

It looks to me like Whiskers actually has gotten into the wine!

This was a real 'good news - bad news - good news' post. Great news about the job. Bad news about the accident (what are the chances of that happening just as you were getting better?) and good news about your visitors! Hope the shoulder improves again very soon x
