Just a Quote for Friday

Alright, so it's not just a quote today.
It's a video with a bit of personal commentary,
and I hope you will enjoy it...
Many moons ago I was introduced to the concept that our thoughts become our reality. Our body/mind connection is an amazing thing, my friends. Anyway, I started paying attention to my thoughts - the things I "said" to myself inside my head.

One of the things that I got in the habit of was repeating a phrase to myself during tough times. In my mind I would think and repeat, "You're ok, Deb, you're ok...it's all going to be ok..." And the really cool thing? It was like the voice of an angel, comforting me and helping through trying times. Good stuff!

When I saw this video I loved it instantly and wanted to share it here for today's quote. How sweet to have a sister to assure you that you're ok. You're fine. And if you don't have a sister to tell you, promise me you'll tell yourself when times get tough...

"You're ok! You're ok!
You're fine! You're fine!"

You have reminded me of the time as a teenager when I travelled by plane for the first time on my own. I was frightened, but as I passed check in, there was a radio playing and I could hear the words "I can do it, I can do it, I can really move" - that stayed with me throughout my trip and even today I sing it when I need to. So I get this totally!

Oh, bless her heart. I get this too! I learnt to drive rather later than most, at 38, and didn't attempt a motorway until a couple of years ago. When I had to pull out from the A road onto the motorway I was repeating, "You can do it, you can do it, you can do it....." to myself.

Awesome! I've been telling myself a lot lately that things will be OK! I'll be happy when all this moving stuff is done!

Aw I just love love love this Deb! What a brilliant message :D Last year, after working in a school I loved for a number of months, I found out I wouldn't have the job the following year. I was devastated but I remember hearing a song on the radio on my way home that evening, 'Brave' - one line stuck with me, 'honestly, I wanna see you be brave!' Thank you for reminding me of it today Deb! X

So sweet. When times get really, really tough for me, I start singing "Amazing Grace." I remember once, standing by the side of the road, with a broken down car (pre-cell phone days) and singing.
I felt better. And things did work out okay.
