Fly-by Weekend

Good day, blog friends!
I hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Mine was good and busy and hot.

Every year around this time we know it's coming, but somehow everyone acts surprised {and highly annoyed} that we have record-breaking temperatures day after day. It's just darned hot here in August. {115° = 46 celsius}

Friday was my grandma's 92nd birthday. I posted this photo of her grandmother {my great-great-grandma} Delila on Instagram. I bet she was happy on that day 92 years ago!

I'll admit that I've been feeling pretty sorry for myself these days. My mom is really sick, and try as I might I just can't seem to think of anything but her. I stopped at the grocery store on my way home Saturday evening and bought myself a cheery bouquet of flowers.

We have a big project happening at work and I spent Saturday and Sunday at the office. {What weekend?} I was productive and purged a bunch of stuff, leaving a huge stack of file folders and paper to recycle. I couldn't stand seeing all that paper go to waste! So, I made stuff...

The original plan was to be at the office until 5:00 p.m. both days, but the work crew finished early yesterday {hooray!!!}. I hooked up with my girl C and we had pedicures, then walked around Whole Foods for a little while. We both took a picture of the cherry tomatoes, but all we bought was a bottled water - just not in the mood for shopping. {Crazy, right?}
And with that it is Monday and time to start again.
I'll be focusing on putting one foot in front of the other...
Keeping my chin up...
Carrying on.

Hugs to you my friend. I wish I could ease some of your heart ache. Don't be afraid to cry - it helps, I think.
Rinda
p.s. For some reason, that stack of notebooks brought a smile to my face. Thanks for that.

So sorry to hear that your mum is going through a bad patch and hope that she feels some relief from that very soon. Rinda is so right, you really do need a good cry from time to time to relieve the pressure that you are under. Try and find some kind of positive in every day, I know it's hard but it's the only way to move forward. Sending big hugs through blogland xxx

You are strong, your 92year old Grandma is strong. So I believe your mom is strong too. I have been told that our modern day Chemotherapy medication, will work.It is just a matter of having the right recipe for each persons body. My thoughts and prayers are super supportive and optimistic. God bless everyone in your family. Miracles do happen!
Your great, great Grandmother is beautiful. I see the resemblance coming down the generations. With your remarkable talents. Can you compose/design a photo of all the women in your maternal line, which of course includes Carrie. It will be so outstanding because of everyone's natural beauty.
