I probably had no business signing up for an online class
{prior commitments and other things on my plate...}
but I did it anyway and I'm so glad I did!
Shimelle's classes are always good for me. They help to give me that little push I need to get crafting. This particular class gave me that push to create something in my new craft room as well. :o)!!!
I like to send weekly cards to my mom and my grandma, and they like the handmade kind the best. When I saw Shimelle's card sketch in prompt #1 I was on it!
One thing I have in my vast paper collection is Halloween paper. Tons of it. {Promise to self: Never, no matter how cute it is, buy anymore Halloween paper! Deb! Your collection is complete!!!} I've had this Heidi Grace paper for...well...forever. I can never bring myself to throw away any scraps, no matter how small. Here's what I came up with:
And, I have some birthdays coming up so while I was already loving this card sketch, I threw a few of these together too.
{cupcake photo I took myself...}
I'm not sure how many scrapbook pages I'll turn out during the course of this class, but I do plan to take advantage of some serious card making. Mom and Grandma will be so pleased.

Super cute! I especially love the birthday one. :) Glad that you are feeling inspired by her class!
So cute! Great job Deb!
These are just lovely,Deb....and I'm with Carrie on the birthday one.
I often use up scraps on cards....but until Shimelle's prompt had never thought of using strips this way....but I've made one this evening....and I think I'll be making more.
So glad the class has inspired you to get back to crafting.
Gorgeous cards, Deb :) I love that we're getting all these card ideas as well as the layouts in this class!
I am having class envy, but, from what all my friends have done so far I can tell that I would not have enough stash! ;-)
Your cards are gorgeous Deb :-)
Great cards. I really like the idea of using the strip of a photo on the birthday card. Smart!
I know what you mean about having no business signing up for a class when you have a billion other things going on, but it is wonderful to take a few moments and become inspired. That is one of the fabulous things about Shimelle and her classes (as you already know). :D
Both are darling! Once my kids leave I hope to have time to catch up! Good thing the class lasts for a few weeks.
These are beautiful! I've run dry on ideas--all mine seem to look alike--but if I ever get back in the mood, I'm going to copy!! I've received absolutely gorgeous cards from 3 of your blog friends (who feel like my friends now!) that I really need to acknowledge when I'm up to it. A bunch of very talented ladies out there and I'm so appreciative of those original works of art! xoxo
They are just so lovely. I was only thinking the other day that there is not enough of your crafty awesomeness on your blog these days and today you have not disappointed me!
Great job Deb! My strip card turned out like cr*p, but I may try it again with halloween papers.
I know exactly what you mean about needing a class to get a kick in the butt.

Best wishes to your Mom, I'm sure with all the love around her, she'll battle on and beat the dreaded 'C'. Love your cards!
Oh wow- lovely stuff Deb,I signed up too!- Love all of them - specially the halloween one x
Is that a photo strip on the birthday card? it looks lovely!
I was holding off commenting on this one because I hoped to do a quick lift on your idea and post it... but I'm not going to get to it right away. I did add both your cards to "pinterest" ... can't wait to give these ideas a try! so simple but the results are so awesome!
That Halloween card is fab!!,,,the birthday one is cute too!
