The best laid plans...

Now switching to plan B.
not my photo...found it here
♦ ♦ ♦
It's Monday morning.
There's a full moon and I didn't get much sleep last night.
I sort of finished my niece's wedding guest book but am not happy with the cover and the binding. I stressed about it for a while yesterday afternoon and then made the decision to completely re-do the outside. So during the night, when I should have been sleeping, I was re-designing the cover (in my mind) and figuring out what to do differently while still keeping the original pages/signatures in tact.

I got The.WORST.Haircut on Friday and now I have to find someone to fix it THIS WEEK, ASAP.
My mom is coming to visit this weekend - will be here on Thursday and my house is a disaster area because I worked on craft stuff all weekend. I'm planning on cleaning my entire house Wednesday night after work (if Hubby and/or Carrie are reading this post, either be here and be helpful Wednesday night or make plans to be busy somewhere else[wink].)

And on a happier note! Hubby had an email from our accountant this morning and instead of owing taxes this year (like we always do) we are actually getting a sizable return! I asked him if our accountant was sure about that. We are both still in disbelief. ha!
And!!! I was just pouting last night about how I enter SOOOO many blog giveaways and "I never win anything." This morning I discovered that I won Rinda's giveaway! I'm so excited to receive my little bag of goodies from her. :o) (You can read about the contest here. It was a random draw which is lucky for me because there were some awesome pieces submitted!)
Edit: And!!! I just found out I won ANOTHER blog giveaway from Cate!!! OMG - two in one morning?!?! I can't wait to get my hands on the chocolate she promised to include in the package. :o) What I thought was going to be a yucky week is turning out to be a fabulous Monday morning!!!
...better post this and get going on my morning walk. I need it today! My mind is all over the place this case you couldn't tell. ;o)

Ooh don't miss my digital template giveaway if you are a digi scrapper! I might be asking more about the guest book - I need to make one for me and have no idea how to go about it!

Congratulations! I'm so glad I could perk up your morning! I was up last night, too, my little basketball player was sick. Today she's home from school - poor thing. I'm facing a mountain of laundry to fold (and a class to prepare for tomorrow) but may get a chance to nap, too.

Congrats, Sweetie! Glad your day improved in just a matter of minutes! This is all I want you to do in preparation for my arrival--make iced tea and toss a blanket and pillow on the couch. Save yourself and relax Wednesday night! Your house is always clean and besides, I'm coming to see you and the family--not your house!!! xo

They say good things happen in threes so a tax rebate and 2 competition wins proves that point!
Well done!
And spend your refund wisely ;-)

Thanks everyone! :o)

And, Mother, the reason you think my house is "always clean" is because I clean it before you visit! ;o) Can't wait till Thursday!!!

So that's your secret!?!? Never would have guessed! xo

Ah you and your Mom! Too funny!

I have "can't sleep because brain won't disengage" nights too.. takes me days to catch up on the sleep.

I'm making (or supposed to be making) an old-fashioned photo album as a wedding present. I started it last week, cut the cover boards and covered the first one with paper... only to realise I had done it wrong.
I need to start again, but now I've changed my mind about the size of the album. At least I haven't wasted the book covers - I can use them for another book.
Bought some lovely card and paper to use for Version 2. Will start tomorrow - I know I'll sleep okay tonight!
Have a good week. I'm sure you will get your book project sorted out now.
Suggest you rope in your family to help get the house nice for your mum's visit! After all, they help make the mess, so maybe they could help to clear it up too - there's a novel idea!

Hair grows. Money is always welcome. I think you got the best end of that karmic deal.
