You'll know you were loved...

...even before you were born!!!
Hands on Janae's pregnant-with-twins belly.
Carrie and I helped host a baby shower today for our dear friend, Janae. It was so much fun! There were eight of us who had worked together at Recollections and it was so fun seeing each other again. Twelve ladies all together in attendance. The weather was gorgeous and the company so fun. It was a great baby shower! A great day.
And Janae made bank with baby stuff! (Kristi and Carrie had better upload pictures of their adorable gifts they made or I will do it here on my blog!)
I'm sure she'll be happy when those two little ones are out of her belly! We can't keep our hands off of them!

The road less traveled...

These are some shots of the road we traveled last weekend on our quad. I can't think of anything I enjoy more than being with Doug on the quad -- out in the desert on a beautiful day like this one was. The desert was so green! We shared a picnic and relaxed...got some great pictures too.

I took a bunch of self-portrait shots like this one and really got a lot of cute pix. I ordered some from Snapfish and plan to put them together in a book for him for Valentine's Day (shhh!).
I love this man!!! ♥

Presley Pix

My sister sent me these pix of Presley in the tutu I made for her birthday. She loved it! :o) Valerie said she twirled around and said, "I look fancy!" awwww! And this cute picture...Presley is ALL ABOUT THE ANIMALS! She loves her stuffed toys and insists on having them in pictures. This is her birthday present -- she named it "Jewel."

Her birthday package arrived the day before her birthday this week but the mailman didn't leave it on their doorstep. My sister took Presley with her to the post office the next day (on her birthday!) to pick it up. When they pulled into the parking lot Pres asked, "Where's Aunt Deb's car?" :o( She thought I was going to be at the post office with her package. Oh how I wish I could have been!!! Sweet little girl...I miss her and wish we didn't live so far away from each other!

I have been inspired!

Ever since I saw this idea on a blog I follow (Homegrown Hospitality) I have been dying to stitch some of my own!!!

I've had this old frame for FOREVER and I LOVE the way this piece looks in it. :o)

And this little goody is for my SIL...made it as a housewarming gift (surprise, Liz!) for her new home. I wrapped it around some chipboard when I was done, glued a back to it and a ribbon for hanging. I think she'll like it. :o)
Special thanks to Stephanie @ Homegrown Hospitality for the inspiration! :o)

I enjoy being a girl...

My niece, Presley, is turning 4 years old this week!!! I'm so happy to be her aunt and to have another niece who is such a girly-girl! LOVE LOVE LOVE doing the pink thing with ribbons and bling and sweet stuff!
************************
I bought a package of these little brown paper bags at Target a long time ago and have been using them lately for gift wrapping -- quick and easy and I think they're pretty cute. This one holds a little turtle necklace:Yep. I finally made a tutu! My friend Kristi made three of these at Christmas this past year and inspired me to do one in PINK (of course) for little Miss P's b-day! The bow in front is clipped on and also doubles as a hair bow. And I used dots of Stickle's paint all over the toule but you can't see it in these pix. Hooray! Here's what the mailman will deliver to Presley's door on Monday -- just in time for her to wear her tutu to her dance class on Tuesday (her actual birthday!).

Word for 2009

Here's my word for 2009.
Originally it was going to be "dignity" and when I shared that with Carrie she said, "Dude. Your word should be 'chill'." ~sigh~ I had to admit that she was right so I changed it and used it to make this banner. I doodled around the edges with phrases and things that will help remind me to take it easy...stuff like "slow down" and "take a break" and "breathe." Having this banner on the wall in our craft space is fun. I'm glad I took Carrie's advice!

GARAGE SALE @ OUR HOUSE

Yes, our total for yesterday's garage sale was $523.51 - making it our most successful garage sale ever. I call it a success in terms of $$$'s earned, junk purged, and the three of us working together as a family/team to move it all out. The remaining items were donated for use in a charity rummage sale. All in all a good thing to do!

My time this past week+ has been focused on getting ready for the sale. Now it's time to switch gears and focus on some craft projects that are calling my name. Oh yeah...my house is upside down...what to do first...???

Here's to 2009!

Ahhhh... Christmas is over and we begin our new year! Doug and I left the very day after Christmas and headed to Sedona for the weekend. We had fun and it was cold and a much needed get-away! Hot chocolate and cafe mocha on the downtown strip.

Carrie and I have had this week off so we did a lot of creative shopping...hit several craft stores and ended up doing more shopping than crafting. We took some time out to take a few self-portraits...you'll have to check out Carrie's blog for some of the crazy shots. http://aninspiredpeace.blogspot.com/
We had so much fun!!! I'm sad our week is almost over!
Happy new year, everyone!
