Choosing One Little Word for 2014

A friend and I were talking recently about our intentions for the New Year and the subject of selecting One Little Word came up. My friend mentioned that her word for 2014 is “luxury” – she intends to treat herself to luxurious things this year.

I told her about my flirtations with the word “meh” and what that meant to me. I told her how I didn’t want to fret about things that I knew were going to work out anyway – I was going to have an attitude of meh for the entire year.

As I spoke she listened knowingly, and in her wisdom she told me that it sounded like my word should be TRUST. I’m not really indifferent about things as the term "meh" would imply, but rather I am confident that things will work out. And they always do!

And so I’ve gone and got myself One Little Word for 2014.
I trust that it's perfect.
As I don't plan to participate in any One Little Word blog hops or forums this year, I will keep TRUST alive and visible by including it as a theme for my Just a Quote for Friday posts at least once a month. Tune in next Friday...

I totally agree with your friend. You are one of the most positive, happy people I know, and "meh" just has an edge to it that definitely doesn't fit my image of you. Trust, on the other hand, just perfect! Using it for your Friday quotes is such a good idea. I've decided to include a bit about my word in each of my monthly Project Life spreads.

I think using your quote is a great way to keep the spirit of your word alive all year. Very best of luck with it!

You have a very wise friend who apparently knows you very well. Trust should help a lot with all the little things you tend to fret and worry over!

Great choice of word Deb. Your friend has a lot of wisdom! I like how you are going to incorporate it. I think I have a word for this year but like you am not taking the class so am thinking of ways I could implement it!

Oh yes, Trust is a much better word for you and I love the idea of keeping it alive on your quote on friday posts. I haven't decided how to keep my word alive yet as I don't participate in OLW hops and such like. I trust that something will pop into my mind:)

Poor old 'meh' - back in the box!
I like 'trust' though, it can be interpreted in so many ways. Good choice.

'Trust' has such a steady, positive ring and I am already looking forward to seeing how it develops throughout the year for you. 'Meh' seems a little offhand for someone who radiates energy and engagement :).

My word is intrepid. I can be anxious and I would like to be more fearless.

I think trust fits your attitude, that what will be will be and it will all end up okay. Look forward to those monthly quotes.
