I texted Carrie last night and asked if she's sad that I'm showing photos of a quilt that's meant to be her Christmas gift this year. Nope! She's not, so I'm sharing my progress here today.
With the cat locked out and the dog trapped in the bedroom, I layered and basted Carrie's quilt top this week. I'm so excited to print and send a copy of these photos to my Grandma!
I can't remember how I came across this quilt top pattern, but as soon as I did I pinned it for future reference. I had lots of random scraps from my mom's stash and my own, and I thought it would make a fun and cheerful quilt top for Carrie. Now I just need to quilt and bind this baby.
Oh, and in other quilting news, there's this:
Ahhhh...it feels so good to make progress.

It looks terrific! It is a present she'll treasure forever!
That's a lot to get done while you are feeling sick!
looking fabulous - I do love patchwork made from the scrap pile and the history that goes with each scrap
Your/Carrie's quilt is so colourful, yet with lots of 'white space ' - delights my eye! You seem to be steamrollering ahead on the sewing front ...
So pretty! I'll bet Carrie can hardly wait to cuddle up with it!
I have serious quilt envy Deb! This is absolutely beautiful!
And so many memories sewn into it - perfect!
What a wonderful quilt,Deb....I bet Carrie can't wait for christmas.
Lots of love sewn into that quilt. Carrie is a lucky girl.
Oh man, I really want to quilt!!!! I wish I had someone to show me!!!
Sweet pattern and so cheerful! Such a nice gift it will make!
I've never seen this pattern before, and I like it more every time I see it! This is going to be a stunner!
Sensational Deb!
Love it! Can't wait to have it on top of me!
Love this and am amazed at how quilting has caught the imagination of so many of my friends this year.
I always like to make at least one of Gracia's Christmas presents too and am not sure what to make this year but I don't think I could take on a quilt. Lucky Carrie.
I wouldn't mind at all seeing the pictures either. When I was little I found a doll's hat my Mum was making for my Christmas present when I was going through a drawer looking for something. I never told I had seen where she had hidden it because I was happy to enjoy looking forward after a sneak peek!
It's a beautiful quilt. There is plenty of great "looking forward" in that
Wow, this looks so amazing Deb :D I love the pattern, and I think Carrie will just adore this Christmas gift. Well done! x
Gorgeous, Deb...Kirsty would love for me to make one for her!
Alison xx
The quilt top is gorgeous. I made one for my daughter but she won't use it because she frightened of spoiling it :) x
Catching up with you Deb. The quilt is absolutely beautiful...I love it, love all the white and the memories that go along with the scraps.
It looks great Deb. I love the idea of using your scraps for it.
