That's not to say that it isn't sprinkled with our life around our home and some road trips we've been on. It's just a random collection, and one that I figured would be cool to look back on. Someday.
And then my nieces came over.
♥
When I caught a glimpse of my nieces through the atrium window,*
hunched over my Project Life and soaking up the memories,
time stood still for a moment.
They were taking it all in. My trips to California to be with my mom {their grandmother}, the 4th of July, a 92nd birthday, a 4th birthday, a first communion, a funeral, a wedding, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. A book filled with photos of the people they love, and photos of themselves here and there ~ smiling faces of the people we connect with in this project called life.
In that moment when I saw my nieces through the window,
I had no doubt that my 2012 Project Life was exactly how it was
meant to be. And I love that I didn't have to wait 20 years to know
it was worth the effort to preserve some of those memories.
♥
* Right. So. I realize that taking these photos of my nieces through
the window of my craft room borders on creeper. Our house has an atrium
in the center, so it's a bit of a fish-bowl-existence sometimes.
Anyway! How could I resist? All things considered.

Deb what a lovely set of photos and story
I'm guessing they won't mind at all! As long as that pic makes it into the 2013 PL album!
It's so wonderful you got this affirmation! In my heart, I'm sure someone will treasure the stories and photos I've captured in my albums even though no one seems to notice now.
I don't think its creepy at all, just seizing the moment ;-)
I'd missed your previous post on your atrium - thanks for the link to that, now I know where you were when you took the photos! I've not done Project Life, but the way you did it last year seems to totally be the right way for you. Glad that the family are enjoying your album.
Not creepy at all ~ it's exactly what we want to see ~ our loved ones connecting with our albums. I love it when The Boy Child looks through ours.
I think I'd like an atrium in my next house ...
Oh this is so beautiful Debs. I agree, what a great affirmation of what you are doing.
Thank you for visiting my blog today! I was so excited to see my work on Ali's blog it just made me so happy! I love your blog and this post brought tears to my eyes. I love it when my family looks through my albums and appreciates the work and memories that go into what we crafters do to capture life. Hugs, Shelly
It really confirms just why you're making the album,Deb....love the photos.
What lovely candid photos/
It is not creepy at all. I think it is great, and they will love seeing those photos too.
I love that you posted about the atrium...it sure made me smile! So glad you're getting your PL pages done. Mine are still being assembled in my mind.
PL, WITL, DD,and JYC are all projects which are wonderful because of the whole, not necessarily each individual spread. I would imagine you captured so many wonderful moments and some pretty difficult ones in 2012 - together they have helped to tell a great family story.
Lovely! To see their pleasure must repay every minute you have spent on your album.
Funny, I can remember being envious of my cousins who had a Mum who made albums for them..I always admired my memory keeping aunt!
I love it when my kids look through my albums.

Not creepy at all. It must have given you a wonderful feeling seeing them going through your PL album for last year.
