Recycling Gift Parts

My brother-in-law, Don {Doug's brother} carved this little elk out of juniper wood during our last camping trip on our northern property in June 2011.

I loved it, and I remember his wife {my SIL, Laurie} telling me that, based on her experience, those little critters were very delicate and impossible to repair once they broke.

Well, fast forward about a year and our little elk was knocked off a shelf and lost his head. I tried to repair him with every type of glue I had in my stash - and I do have a few in my collection. Nothing held. I know, I could have drilled a small hole and added a splint, but I came up with another idea:

I gave this to Doug for Christmas and he loved it.
:o)

Cute idea!

We have had a stone rabbit in our garden for years: he lost his ears a while back and we have tried every kind of masonry type glue, nothing works. Maybe we just need to display his ears with pride!

How funny, but cute. It made me laugh, I love it. Now mount the back end and give it to him when he is bad. LOL

Love it! And he'll be far less able to be knocked on the floor.
