My precious...

My sweet blog friend Sian hosts Storytelling Sunday on her blog on the first Sunday of each month. Every month I know it's coming, and I usually have an idea for a story to tell. This month, I needed a little push in the right direction, so I'm actually following Sian's suggestion: Pick Your Precious.
And this month, I'm using a photo to tell my story. It shows some of my {many} precious treasures, resting on top of my great-grandmother's Singer sewing machine cabinet. One thing that stands out is the framed baby picture of my 7-month old self. My mom loved that photo, and told the story that it was taken at a local grocery store and then used as part of an intermission slide show at the local drive-in movie theater.

My mom's words about that photo?
Every time: "My precious baby girl."

An absolutely perfect "precious". It's just exactly the kind of treasure I love and I'm delighted that you shared with us today. Thanks Deb - you hint at a collection of well loved objects and I'm looking forward to a few more revealing themselves as we go through the year.

I like you baby photo and the reason why it was taken. Looks like you have many memories on top of your grandmothers sewing table. Perhaps we'll hear about more of them at a later time?
