Right now I am:

...preparing for another trip to California to visit my mom;

...writing a blog post about the serendipity of finding friends in unusual places;

...dreaming of Christmas and wondering how that will be for my family this year;

...praying for my sweet grandma who is having a really rough time knowing that my mom is losing her battle with ovarian cancer; {My grandma's name is Gertrude if you'd like to lift her name in love and prayer.}

...wishing political viewpoints in my country weren't laced with so much anger and hatred for the opposite side;

...and seriously considering unsubscribing from a few "friends" on Facebook until after our presidential election;

...looking forward to seeing Jason Mraz in concert next week with my girl C;

...waiting to hear back from the computer repair guy as our home computer is having issues;

...shopping for a dress for my nephew's wedding next month {wish me luck}; and

...looking for my sense of adventure that seems to have faded a bit. Maybe I'll find it while...

...planning a trip to England with Carrie next spring. {Eeeep!}

What are you up to right now?

Prayers are wrapped around all of you as you step ahead in this sad and hard journey, thank you for sharing grandma's name. I, too feel the same way about the climate around the election. I had to literally move to another area of the gym yesterday because of someone in a "private" conversation so loudly denigrating my candidate. I have hidden a few FB friends until at least December 1st. I figure if their candidate loses things will be unpleasant. I think you are at a stage in life where adventure is set aside but it will return and I am sure it will be highly evident as you head to England, so excited for ya'll!

Liking the sound of that last one! I keep wondering about how things are with your mum as time goes on. I put on a teal dress to match my team teal wrist band this morning and you all crossed my mind. Keep strong x

Wow is that a full plate! Safe journey and I hope your visit with your mom goes well. Praying that you all find the strength you need. And my heart breaks for your grandmother. I can't even imagine the pain she is going through watching your mom at this time. Sending you all extra love and prayers. And yet, through all of this, we see your boundless optimism. You're one in a million, kiddo! Thankfully there seem to be lots of happy things on the horizon too. A trip to england!!!??? eeep!!! is right!!!

Life is such a mystery - full of beginnings and endings; the present, the future and the past. Hugs to you and to Gertrude both.

I'm holding you, Carrie, Doug, and Gertrude in my prayers. We are facing hospice here this week with Tracy's stepfather, so your struggles are very close to my heart. May all our love and prayers go with you on your journey this weekend. (Glad you have a happy trip to anticipate and plan for during this difficult time.)
