These days, when I come home from a visit with my mom, I need something bring me back down to normal. {If there is a "normal."} I needed some garden therapy, so I hit the nursery section of our local home improvement store and bought flowers in dirt.
After work, Doug cleaned out his paint bucket while I procrastinated about making dinner...
~sigh~ Everything in the ground, Doug showered {and ready for dinner}, neighborhood stray cat enjoying the view...
This pretty flowering shrub is called "Sparky" after Arizona State University's mascot. It's engineered to match ASU's colors {burgundy and gold} and a portion of the proceeds go to the "Fund for Landscape Architecture Students" at ASU. Cool, huh?
What's in the dirt around your place these days?

beautiful flowers, thinking of you and sending hugs xxx
There's nothing like gardening to help clear your mind. That is a beautiful flower. Sending you lots of hugs my friend.
I bought flowers two weeks ago; they still aren't in the ground. Sigh.

Sending you hugs,Deb....and I agree that there is nothing like a bit of gardening to raise the spirits.
Our earth [dirt to you!] is just too rock solid to plant in at the moment....and I have lots of baby plants that need to go in....sigh.
I always find gardening very therapeutic too

Not a garden girl myself, it's baking that I turn to.
They're so pretty! I hope they do lift your spirits, and that knowing we're all thinking of you helps too xx
Me, I'm pretty much the opposite of 'natural gardener'....
It's good to have a hobby to turn to when you need to clear your mind (as best you can.) The last of the summer flowers are in my dirt. I just found a beautiful dahlia. I thought the deer had ruined the plants, but they've come back and there may be a few more before the first frost.
Weeds are in my dirt at the moment! I've had no free time to get out in the garden - actually that is partly the truth, the other part is that I don't actually like gardening very much! I love the look of a pretty garden, but don't like what it involves, fortunately Hugh is very good on that part! Sending hugs to you and Marti x
What lovely looking flowers Deb - what is the name of the plant? I find gardening so therapeutic.
Our garden right now, I'm ashamed to say, is full of weeds - all that rain we didn't get during the height of summer is definitely falling now and the weeds are loving it.
What's in the dirt around here? A small fluffy white puppy. Chasing birds, trying to eat snails and pulling worms out of the grass.
