First Autumn Weekend Recap

Greetings, friends.
We had a lovely and busy weekend, and I have a few photos to show for it...

Friday evening we had friends in town that we hadn't seen in about 6 years. They arrived for dinner and we talked and laughed and ate and drank until midnight. And took not one photo! The only photo I have is this one that I took before they arrived - part of a table centerpiece for the evening...

After our friends left and I realized I hadn't taken any photos I was pretty bummed, but then I realized - hey, we had so much fun and it was so good to see them that I didn't think about anything other than enjoying our time together. That's a good thing - and I don't need a photo to remind me of that. {But it sure would have been nice for my Project Life book...}

And speaking of Project Life, I actually created a few layouts for my book this weekend.

And this one with lots of 2"x2" photos from my nephew's birthday party {page protector is for coin collectors but worked out great for all these photos!}.

Yesterday morning Carrie and I participated in the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's Walk/Run to Break the Silence event. It was a beautiful morning for a walk, and for a great cause too. We thought about my mom every step of the way!

After the walk we had breakfast together, and then a fresh teal pedicure {although in this photo they look blue so you'll have to trust me - they are teal!}. You can read more about teal toes here.

Don't you just love sweet surprises? Like the inside of this little watermelon with its natural heart shapes inside? :o)
And with that I'm off to conquer the last week in September. Can you hardly believe it? I've been seeing Christmas-y posts here and there and you just know that will be here before we know it. With all the stuff I have going on in my head these days, I'm not sure there's room in there for Christmas yet, so this should be an interesting Autumn. And winter.
Oh well, I'll deal with it.
And be blessed along the way.

love the coin pocket page, great idea! I have had so many people comment on my teal nails, it's been a great lead into sharing about ovarian cancer :)

Paul's parents, sister and brother-in-law were up for the weekend, and the only photo I got was a blurry iphone one! But it's better than nothing, I guess!
I'm looking forward to really celebrating October. I love that month and didn't do much with it last year.

I'm amazed at how often I forget to take even one photo at dinners and group events. Like you, I'm bummed, but I agree that it's because I'm having such a good time that the photos never cross my mind.

Enjoy the last days of September! You always cram an amazing amount of things into your weeks and weekends!
