California Weekend Recap

Good Monday morning, blog friends.

I flew to California this past weekend to visit my mom, and boy are my arms tired. {Sorry, couldn't resist.} Anyway, let's get down to the recap, shall we?

My furry friends are wise to the suitcase. I have to keep it closed while in the process of packing, or this fuzzy boy would be inside rather than on top:

Friday was my nephew Stone's 4th birthday and I was happy that I got to help celebrate him. Uncle Doug and I gave him Lego's for his birthday and I think he's going to love them. {Sorry, Sis, for the 600+ pieces...}

I know, I'm a cat magnet. My sister's cat is a quirky little thing, but oh-so-lovable!

Stone's birthday was a cowboy theme, and here's what his party table looked like:

Cowgirls rule!

After Stone's party I headed to my mom's house...

We hate cancer.

Mornings are rough for my mom. After we got her settled I took a walk and found this field where I spent some time settling myself.
I am so grateful that my youngest brother {Tim} was able to travel with me this past weekend. I felt so blessed to have that time with him, and am grateful that we were able to support our mom and each other. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the thoughts and prayers of Team Teal carried me through this weekend. My heart is heavy this morning, but lifted in gratitude for your support.

This week is already full of blessings.

Good that you got to see family and spend some precious time with them - especially your mom. Cancer certainly is no picnic - I'm sure Marti is glad to see her children and feel that you all love her.
Great photos, Deb. xxx

It seemed like I was thinking of you and yours constantly this weekend and with each thought I lifted a prayer. Looks like your sister is a master at entertaining, must run in the family!

I thought of you often this weekend, and knew it would likely be a difficult one. I'm so glad your brother was there, and that you got a chance to do some birthday celebrating as well. It looks like it was quite the party!

Oh How I remember those Lego's. My son will turn 20 tomorrow and I still find them coming out of the couch. LOL I couldn't wait to repay my sister-in-law by giving her daughter her own set of Lego's LOL

That photo of all the pill bottles is uncomfortably familiar. I'm glad you had the opportunity to see your Mom and to celebrate your nephew. My thoughts are with you.

Ohhhh! I thought it was YOU with cancer when I saw this pic the other day. Glad it isn't you but I am sorry it is your mom.
Daddy had it and it was one of those things that happened to OTHER people...not us.
