Road Trip Photos {for Rinda}

My friend Rinda is hosting a Summer Photography Scavenger Hunt over on her blog, and my efforts so far have been a bit lacking. I knew of a place where I could find several items to check off the list, so Doug and I packed up and took a day trip to one of our most favorite places on the planet: Young, Arizona.

Along the way, Doug stopped so I could take a photo of a historical landmark {item #6}.
{I love that this is in the shape of an Arizona map.}

A shadow {item #11}

A library {item #13}

A horse {item #10} - super sad that one is blindfolded. I tried to call
them over to the fence, but they were stuck to each other like glue.
{Ooh, no pun intended with the glue reference...sorry horsies!}

The closest shot I could get without inviting myself into
this front yard space ~ a swing hanging from a tree {item #20}

And finally, a train {item #5} - blurred because we were both in motion.

And just because - I'm throwing in a few photos that aren't on Rinda's list. They're photos I took during our little day trip that I thought you might enjoy. :o)

Dear Rinda ~ Thanks for hosting the scavenger hunt again this year. I love looking for items on the list! And by the way, I found a stinking ANT HILL this past weekend too - one of the few items I could not find last year! :o]

Dear Doug ~ Thanks for taking me out so I could photograph stuff for Rinda's hunt. You're the sweetest husband ever! Let's go back to Young again real soon, ok? xo

To see more fun scavenger hunt photos, please visit Rinda's blog for her link up party!

I'm always fascinated by libraries from all over the world - so glad that Rinda included this one on the list.

I can feel the warmth of your sun - very pleasant today when it's so chilly here

What is that tiny little critter in your hand???

:o) It's a "horned toad lizard." They are tricky to spot (Doug has a good eye) but fairly easy to catch (Doug has a quick hand).

Love the photos especially the yard with the tire swing.

Great photos! Love that little lizard. The landscape around you is so different from what we have here, I love it when you show photos of things like that. Hope you had a good weekend x

I think your last pic could be considered as #12. Doug is a really cool guy. Looks like you had a great field trip.

Wonderful photos Deb! I don't think I could hold that lizard long enough for a picture, I'm squirming in my seat right now looking at it :)

Great photos Deb. You were lucky to find so many photos on your road trip, it sounds a fun thing to do. Enjoy taking the rest of the photos on the list.

Oh what a lovely set of shots.

That tire swing brought back lots of happy memories from my childhood.

I have a friend who is currently living in and exploring Arizona and think I'll send her this link. Looks very different to her bit! Fascinating to see the differences.

I am fascinated by the desert and wish I lived close to one so I could spend time there. Your photo are so beautiful especially the ones of flowers, and that cute little horned toad lizard in your hand.

Beautiful photos - I think the shadow & that last one of the road are my two favorites.

Oooh we saw a blindfolded horse the other day and thought it was a bit strange...he/she was just standing in the middle of the field...xxx

Great pictures Deb. I'm glad Cheri asked what the little animal was - never seen one of them before. Like that flower picture with the bee in it.

Such atmospheric photos - it's an area I'd love to see. I'm struggling to find a tree swing here!

Great photos and the ant hill sounds interesting.

Don't worry, that horse is wearing a fly mask, not a blindfold. It is a mask to keep flies out of his eyes. Some horses are more sensitive to fly bites than others.
