Kind-of-a-Chick-Flick Pass-the-DVD

Doug was on a hunting/camping trip with his brother last weekend and Carrie and I made the most of our time together by planning a girl's night in with a chick flick and a bottle of wine. {It's cool having an adult daughter!} Our movie of choice was "Thelma and Louise" and we chose that because we'd heard that it was Brad Pitt's first movie role. While he wasn't in the movie as much as we would have liked, it was still worth watching.

We were determined to watch that movie, and when all attempts to rent it locally were exhausted, Carrie ended up ordering a copy from Amazon. What we have now is a copy of a movie that we enjoyed once, but neither of us cares to store it in our growing collection of DVD's.

My girl C had a brilliant idea:
Pass-the-DVD similar to Sian's Pass-the-Book idea.

Cool. So, if you've never seen this movie
{or if it's been a while and you'd like to see it again}
and you would like to borrow it, feel free to leave a comment on this
post. I'll draw a name and announce the winner next week
{on Wednesday, May 23} and send the DVD to you.

Sound like a plan?

PS: This movie prize does not come with a bottle of wine and/or
an amazing daughter to share it with. You're on your own with that. ;o)

It's only the fact that American DVDs don't work in European DVD players that stops me from entering this :o(
I must now be the only woman on the planet who hasn't seen this film!

Oh, rats! I didn't realize that, Debs. :o\ That kinda' blows my plan to do this on a regular basis to thin out my DVD collection. Hm...

Debs, I haven't seen it either! Same as you though, no good in the UK. Would have loved to join in too Deb!

I was coming by to say "cool idea, but I've seen it enough times already, so thanks but no thanks" and then I realise perhaps it wouldn't have been watch-able at all!

I thought most people had multi-region DVD players these days?...we certainly have, and I am another one who has never seen it, so yes please!!

I remember seeing this via rental when it came out. My mom and I watched it and she asked, at the end, if I thought there would be a sequel...

Myself, I have always been a Michael Madsen fan. :)

To Nicole's mom---when Thelma and Louise were at the Oscars that year giving an award, they joked about a sequel. One was being serious about the way it ended and of course there would be no sequel. The other kept talking about how much money they'd make in a sequel so the serious one said "Okay, we bounced!" Loved that line! Deb, great idea but I've seen the movie and don't believe I'd qualify anyway--no nepotism here! If I can't have the daughter to watch it with, I don't want it anyway!!!! Love you! xoxo

I'm with Alison, I thought most DVD players were multi-regioned too??? Ours certainly are. Anyway, I'll pass because I have seen this movie many a time before ... I am actually surprised you had not seen it before! Great idea Deb, this is a fun Pass the ____ idea!

I must be completely behind the times becasue I have never heard of a multi-regional DVD player lol Ours doesn't take US DVD's. Great idea though!

Great idea Deb but sorry I've seen it. Our copy is VHS and I'm trying to weed them all out and just have DVDs.
