My Weekend Recap ♥

Oh joy, oh joy.
It's Monday.

I'm feeling particularly blessed this morning, having spent the weekend with some wonderful friends and a few family members in the mix. Here are just a few of the photos I managed to take along the way.

I decorated our kitchen and living room in preparation for the Valentine crop that Carrie and I hosted on Saturday.

 Enjoyed some beautiful Arizona sunsets, and made red velvet cupcakes for Saturday's V-day shindig...

The weather was gorgeous this weekend, and I took a walk and enjoyed the sunshine. Wildflowers are starting to bloom early this year. {I want our front yard to look like this next year!}

After spending Saturday afternoon cropping with our girlfriends {more on that tomorrow}, Doug and I attended the birthday party of a dear friend, Judy. Judy has a friend {Dana} who is famous for her Jell-o shots. She brings them to every party and they are always a big hit...these were no exception:
Strawberry Jell-o with rum, lemon with vodka, and apricot with amaretto. I kind of got scolded cautioned by Doug:"They're not candy, you know?" Psh. Like it's my first rodeo. {They do sneek up on you!}

As we sat by the fire with Judy and her family, she mentioned that they occasionally build a fire in the mornings. Why Doug or I have never thought of that is a mystery. Yesterday morning we had our own fire where we enjoyed coffee and cinnamon toast.

And then another birthday party last night! I made a second batch of cupcakes...this time chocolate...

So, this was a cool surprise! At birthday party #2 there was bluegrass music!
The young man on the right is the 14 year old son of our friend, Debi, the birthday girl. This is the group he performs with and it was so much fun to hear them play and enjoy their time together.

And that was our weekend. Doug has agreed to live with the decorations until after Valentine's Day. He's such a good sport!

On the agenda this week:  I'll be posting some photos of our Valentine crop tomorrow, and then on Wednesday I have a guest post ready to fly - a letter written by my mom for Team Teal. I'm still fussing with my shoulder and looking for a job...same ol' stuff, different week. I haven't been on the computer a whole lot for fun stuff, so I haven't visited and/or commented on friend's blogs the way I'd like to...hoping to catch up on that this week as well.

It's Valentine's week!
Have a sweet one!

What a great weekend - there's nothing better than relaxing with friends. A few thoughts: I love the phrase "this is not my first rodeo." I need to use it way more often. I went to a crop yesterday - relaxing and productive in a simple layout way. I think you should try red velvet donuts. I love jello shots!

What the heck is a crop? Does it involve potatoes?

Lovely pictures! I bought a vintage jello mould last weekend - maybe I could try for full size shots?
