Cali Trip Blog Tour 2011

Hi Blog friends!

Carrie and I are back from our amazing road trip and I'm hitting the ground running this morning. We had SO much fun and I took about a million pictures that I'm dying to post, but now that we're back I'm kicking into moving mode. I have boxes to pack and two houses to clean between now and this coming weekend. I don't even want to know how many unread blog posts I have waiting for me in Google Reader. I think I'll just not even go there.

So, this morning I'm giving you a little sneak peek of our road trip, and a glimpse of some of the lovely ladies we had the pleasure of spending time with. I will have more photos and stories to post once we get through our move! :o)
♥ ♥ ♥

Mel started this whole thing by traveling from England to California.
When Carrie and I found out that she'd be there with her family we
started planning a road trip. What an amazing experience it was to
spend time with Mel and her lovely family. {Hi The Tomboy!}

And since Margaret lives in the same town where Mel is staying,
we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy a lovely lunch with her.
She chose a burger and pie establishment that was so tasty - we'd
definitely go back again the next time we're in town {and we'll call
on Margaret again to meet us there!}.

The drive to see Rinda was a few hours from my mom's house, so
we headed over to spend an afternoon with her. Ooooh we had a
great time poking around in shops and taking in the sights of this
fabulous beach town! It was so fun and easy being with Rinda. ♥

We got to spend some time with my sister {Valerie} and mom {Marti}
and some other family members. We needed that! My mom is doing well
and I plan to do a Team Teal update soon.
{Prayers for her today as she receives another round of chemo...}

And the icing on the cake? Getting to spend four days with my girl C.
I'm happy to report that we got along swimmingly with only a few little
scuffles along the way. We spent a lot of hours in the car and it was great
to be able to share the driving with such a competent driver. {We did come
to the conclusion that we would not be good team mates on The Amazing Race.}
So that's it in a nutshell. I'm so excited to have so many fun blog posts waiting in the wings. I'm also looking forward to catching up on each of your blogs, but it might be a while before I can justify spending some leisure time on this computer.

My heart is overflowing with joy today.
And my smile muscles are sore.
:o)

This post has put a big smile on my face! I just know how much a restorative trip like this can mean in the midst of everything you have going on and it certainly looks like a lot of fun!

I just commented on Mel's post that I feel we are getting closer and closer to a giant big meet-up blogger convention with all of us there!

And that's the Margaret who got the Pass the Book, isn't it? Nice to see her face too

What a fabulous road trip and what fun it must have been to meet up with so many blog friends. And I definitely understand the attraction of having four days with Carrie!! I'm so glad to have an update on your mom. I've been thinking of her a lot lately and an email to you was on my To Do list. She's in my prayers every day.

I love this post too! How cool is Sian's idea of a massive blog convention catch up?! I vote for a tropical island where we don't have to worry about cooking, cleaning, packing, painting and sickness!

Sending my best to you for this week, and always really, but this week in the hectic maelstrom of moving and cleaning ... and of course to your Mum - all strength to her!
