The Dads in my life...

This Father's Day I decided to do a little tribute
to four of the most amazing dads I know.
The first two are my brothers, Ron and Tim. I could go on and on and on about how what amazing men these guys are. They are kind and funny and talented, each of them. Add those attributes to their amazing parenting skills and you have two of the best dads I know.  ♥ ♥

And then there's my Douglas. An amazing husband and such a wonderful father figure to my daughter, Carrie. I love that she can count on him, that he teaches her things like how to check her car oil and unclog her own bathtub drain. I love that she can call on him and he'll come running - no matter what the situation is. I love that in conversation he refers to her as "our" daughter. And when Carrie refers to the two of us it's my "parents" rather than "mom and step-dad." We are very lucky girls to have him in our lives!

And last, but certainly not least, is my own step-father, Rod. This is a man of strong morals and integrity, one who is unfailing in his love for my mother and all of her children and grandchildren that he took on some 18 years ago. I can't imagine our lives without him, or his life without us for that matter. He is a rock and a softy, all rolled into one, and we love him for that!

Today we'll celebrate Father's Day with my amazing father-in-law, Dave and the rest of Doug's family. What are you doing to celebrate the amazing dads in your life?

What a nice tribute. Brad Paisley has a great song about step dads. Today Paul and I are going to go listen to some music in San Francisco. Clara's going with us. Henry's playing in a soccer game but said he will try to score a goal for Paul - LOL!

We're about to head off on a father's day picnic. We're brining the dog, who can be counted on as the only female not to whine. Honestly, the man deserves better.

Ahh! You really picked some true winners! I completely agree with your choices! I didn't go online yesterday so Rod didn't get to see this so he'll be very honored when he comes home tonight. Nicely done, DD! Love you! xo
