The puzzle comes together...

I'm so excited about this project!
It may be a while before this project is complete, but I couldn't wait that long to show you!

My sweet and clever girl, Carrie, put a lot of thought and effort into her gift for me for my 50th birthday this year! She created a large puzzle then cut it into 96 pieces and sent those pieces out to my friends and family. Over the past couple of weeks I have had "happy mail" every day. :o)!!!

It's been SO much fun to see what comes in the mail. Some folks have written a simple birthday message, others have included a photo or two, some have written about lovely and silly memories they have of me, and some of my scrapbooking friends have created mini-layouts or written a lovely piece just for me. Every single card I've received is appreciated and treasured so much! {Photo above is of the piece that my youngest crafting friend, Molly, sent to me.}

This past weekend I set out on the task of putting the puzzle together. So far I have 45 of the 96 pieces back...

This wall in our entry way has been temporarily cleared for the purpose of putting a puzzle together...

It was a little tricky getting the grid set up, but once I did the pieces sort of fell into place...

I wonder what's in the mail today...

Carrie got this idea from a post seen here and has
had plans to do this for my 50th birthday ever since.
:o)

Edit: You can see the final puzzle post here.

How exciting! This is the most fun and amazing idea. I could try it (but maybe on a smaller scale!), for a special birthday too.
I want to see what the picture will be. It looks as if Carrie was quite clever with how she sent out the pieces - you haven't had a whole big block returned yet...

I had some "Happy Mail" today - a very pretty card, from a certain nice lady in AZ, USA... :-)

It would be great to stick all the pieces to a piece of clear acrylic ~ then you could see the big picture on the front and all the comments on the back
