Celebrating the bride ♥

Sweet treats for our niece, Karie, for her bridal shower...

When I volunteered to make party favors for our niece's bridal shower I knew I'd need some help with the basics. {I'm still nursing a sore shoulder and knew that 50 boxes and tags probably wasn't a good idea to do on my own.} I had the girls over a few weeks ago to help fold the boxes, and then I took it from there... {well...kind of...}

My SIL, Laurie (Karie's mom) punched all these butterflies because I thought I'd be using them on the top of the boxes. As it turned out, I wasn't happy with the looks of them on top...

so I tucked them inside, along with 3 Hershey's Hugs and 3 Kisses.

A big thanks to Doug and my girl C for punching circles for the tags!
.
This afternoon we will gather at the home of Karie's maid-of-honor to celebrate her upcoming nuptials.

And each of her guests will take one of these home with them.
.
Made by me, with the help of my friends.
{Thanks, you guys, for all your help!!!}

PS: Yes, our family has two Carrie's (Karie's). Karie is Doug's niece by blood, mine by marriage, ours by love of family.

How very beautiful! "Showers" are not something that has been part of the "British way of doing things"; we always give gifts to new parents, of the kind that are given at US Baby Showers and the same thing for weddings. However, we seem to be adopting this rather charming practise recently - my younger niece threw a lovely baby shower for her elder sister last month and I have heard young women saying they're having a wedding shower or baby shower - so it's catching on!
You and your friends & family have certainly made some lovely little favours for your niece and her guests. So very pretty and thoughtful!

what a sweet little favor! And such a lot of work. If you went to that much trouble for the shower, I can't imagine what is on tap for the actual wedding!

These are completely WONDERFUL, Deb!!! I can't get over all the amazing detail.
Also, thank you for sharing the crock pot recipe below. I'll be sure to share it with my girls.
Also, I will definitely add your dear mom to my prayers. I'm sorry for your challenges right now. Hang in there.

I am just intrigued that Doug entered the 'scrap zone' - very impressive! ;-)
The ribbon makes these look very luxurious and I just know they will be a hit ... look after that shoulder :-)

The boxes turned out beautifully and I'm sure they were appreciated by everyone. Glad you had help from family and that you're watching out for your shoulder.
We had bridal showers and baby showers in South Africa too but as Lizzie said, they aren't that popular in the UK (though do seem to be starting to happen).
xx

These are so pretty. I love that purple colour and I love butterflies - so pretty - if I were getting married now - I would totally have to 'borrow' this idea ;)
