When you've been in the car for 10 hours, and you're about 30 minutes away from your final destination (sister's house), stopping to take photos of an orchard might not seem like the thing to do at the time. But...
On our way into Fresno a couple of weeks ago, Carrie and I were in awe of the nut trees in bloom this time of year. We finally found a freeway exit that we took, then followed a dirt/farm road down to this almond tree orchard.
The fallen petals looked like snow underneath the trees.
And the air was BUZZING with bees, which didn't make for a happy Carrie, but she was enjoying the view as well.
Simply breathtaking!
I think I'll use this next shot for a greeting card:
And then there were pistachio trees...all lined up and in two varieties - one white and one pink...
SOOOO pretty!
I loved the pink blossoms on these trees!
Are you tired of looking at blossoms yet?
~sigh~ I took SO many pictures that day! Then! We got to my sister's house and the tree in her front yard was in full bloom as well!
This is a fruitless pear tree and the blossoms are so pretty {sadly, these blossoms smell horrible but their beauty compensates...}.
This tree is so pretty, no matter what the season! Beautiful green shade in the summer, gorgeous fall colors in autumn, stark long branches in the winter, and pretty blossoms in the spring.

Beautiful! I love your photos. I drove past some beautiful trees this week too and had it not been for a bunch of other people intent on getting to the destination quickly, I would have been stopping to snap photos too.
Wow! I have to admit I've been tempted to stop many times during the long drive down the valley but never have b/c I knew everyone in the car would complain. Your pictures are inspiring - in their stop and look and enjoy message.

Stopping off for this kind of photo opportunity is always the thing to do :-) We're seeing blossoms now on the cherry trees, and the daffodils and crocus are out, which is beautiful - I love the signs of spring! xx
It's snowing here again this morning. I would love to be covered in white petals instead! Your photos are just gorgeous.
Beautiful shots of beautiful blossoms! Through Madera and Fresno counties are actual "blossom trails" tours you can take and snap to your hearts content! You'll have to do that next spring! The picture you chose for future cards are so pretty! Maybe I'll get one??? Love you, Darling Daughter! xo
beautiful. The last photos are magnolia - love them - there were lots in New Zealand
Have been seeing lots of apple blossom this last week - so beautiful
What a beautiful place! Your photos are stunning. We just go snow again last night so I won't see apple blossoms for quite some time still.
We have a lot of Magnolias as well....and they are truly stunning. Some trees here are just coming into blossom, but it will be another month before the blossom is everywhere....it is all just so pretty....love your photos.
I love blossom and these photos are beautiful - I'm so glad you stopped to take pictures :) I'm still waiting for our cherry tree to bloom but when it does I'm sure there'll be plenty of photos on my blog too :) xxx
It was fun to do this until I saw all the bees! I should make a post with my pictures too...maybe someday.
Hey, did you get any pictures of me in front of the trees?
It won't be our turn for such beauty for a while yet, although I did notice the cherry tree in the garden is trying hard to blossom at the moment. We have daffodils, crocus and hellebores in flower and there are many plants just popping their heads through the soil. Guessing an English garden is very different to an Arizona one!
Perfect photos for greetings cards! How lovely. My sister-in-law is from Fresno: it's a small world really :)
the blossoms are absolutely gorgeous. all of them. i would have stopped too.
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous -not too many pics of blossoms at all. Those magnolias are beautiful. My dad has one in his garden that is just coming into bud.I love this time of year.x
snow!!! These are gorgeous shots, Deb! I totally would have stopped!
Blooming gorgeous post Deb ;o)
It really did look like snow. Just gorgeous. Lately, nothing to exciting blooming here. It's been raining a lot.
Oh my, what a beautiful place that must be. The light in your photographs is exquisite.
Love, as always, to you and yours x
I NEVER get tired of blossoms! And sorry to say, nothing is blooming on my part of the planet yet. Buds are happening. Shoots are pushing up. But blooming? Not so much. In fact, we woke up to snow. :(
Gorgeous, Deb! Lots starting to bloom here as my allergies will attest to but it is magnficent!
Absolutely incredible. Thanks for taking the time to take these photos to share. : )

Never ... not an overload! Actually, given my big wedding photography job two weeks ago, I thought that these trees would make stunning bridal backgrounds ... hmmmmmm :-)
Gorgeous! Blossoms are one of my favoutites ~ a sure sign Spring is on the way!
Your photos are just fabulous Deb!
I hope you are going to make an album for all of your tree and plant photos:)
Stunning photos Deb, I think that picture is a good choice for your greetings card - it is so very pretty :)
