What do you take for a hostess gift?

This past weekend I crafted with my friend Bev {aka B2}.
I bought this little potted plant at my local grocery store
to take as a hostess gift and just wasn't happy with the
purple-plastic-packaging.
{say that fast three times...}
.
Who says I'll never use that piece of leftover corrugated
cardboard once used as packing material?!?!?!

:o)
And in the process I had a good idea for
what to do with the remaining cardboard!

I take plants, food or wine for the most part. It depends on the person a little and the situation of course! I think your changes for this gift are fantastic, the ribbon really makes the whole thing :-)

Your 'changes' have made the gift so much nicer and more personal. I usually take a plant as well... though sometimes wine....depending on the recipient.

Lovely idea Deb - it has to be chocolates (lots of it) to share for me!

That's so cute! And thoughtful of you--don't know of many people who would take a hostess gift to a crafting session--bless you, Sweetie! xo

Much better!!! And... a woman after my own heart...NEVER throw anything away. Ha!
The tile job turned out AMAZING, Deb. It's beautiful! I was sorry to hear about your shoulder problems. A few years ago I woke up one morning with "frozen shoulder". The things that helped the most were Physical Therapy and an "EMS". Here is the link to just one type on the Internet, but you can search for others in your browser. http://orthobionics.net/detail.php/461
It sure gave me a lot of relief. Take care,
Mary Lou

I can't remember the last time I went anywhere that involved taking a hostess gift! Although, if I'm asked to "bring a plate" to a party or something, I always buy a new plate, and that's my hostess gift... your changes are lovely and simple, and make the plant so much better!
