Who knew a hula hoop could be a work of art?

A friend of mine from work has a friend who makes hula-hoops. Yes, she {Renae} makes them! She uses some sort of tubing, connects it to make a hoop and wraps it with pretty tape. The result is an adult sized hoop with a little extra weight that actually makes it easier to keep up and spinning.
I've always loved hula-hooping, and when my friend {Samantha} brought some of Renae's hoops on a recent camping trip, I knew I needed to own one myself.
I suppose the act of hula-hooping is probably good exercise...

I just think it's fun and kind of magical...

And with pretty tape that sparkles? ~sigh~ It's "my thing" for sure.

PS: Notice I'm wearing the bracelets Ruth sent me? And my top is one that I bought from Donna Downey when I took her class. :o)

Cute hoop but I'm partial to the hooper--she's very cute! I'll need to give that a twirl when I'm there again. A few years ago I got my swivel back and didn't do too bad!!! xo

I'm so impressed! I am a rubbish hula-hooper but at least I give people a laugh when I'm having a try! I have to stick to the wii version!

It's supposed to be the most fantastic exercise and it looks like a lot of fun! Makes for great fun photos too.

Can I tell you? Hula Hooping is the only sport I'm good at. And it's not even really a sport.

Oh my what a pretty hula hoop. Such fun - G and I often hula hoop on the Wii but I think we will have to get a real one and not a virtual one now.

I noticed the bracelet! You are fully scrappily coordinated! Our gym has just got a few hula hoops so they think it's good exercise too :-)

Good for you being able to hula hoop, I am just not born to do it.
Looks like you have a talent there :)

That is too cute! The other day Pres was complaining about going to swim and I was doing the mommy guilt trip on her and told her that when I was little we couldn't afford swim lessons so I didn't know how to swim now--or dance lessons so now I can't dance--and she says--"so you couldn't afford hula hoop lessons either huh?". NICE! But maybe I should get one of these if its "easier" to keep up!
Love--Val
