A little look at the little book...

Just thought I'd share a few photos of some of the pages I
completed of my nephew's beach book this weekend.
The sandcastle was cut with my Cricut using Doodlecharms
cartridge. The sun and bucket are from a package of felt
shapes I've had in my stash for a few years now.
No project [on my worktable] is complete without buttons!

I'll put the book together with my Bind-it-all once
I have the covers complete.

♥ ♥ ♥

For this project (and most of the other mini-books I make) I made the pages using a piece of chipboard and glued the base paper to each side using Yes! paste. I love that stuff though it's a bit messy to use. I slop it on and wipe it off with a credit card (like it's a squeegy if that makes sense) so there's a very thin layer. Once glued, I layer waxed paper between the pages and put them under a heavy book for at least 24 hours to cure. The pages end up being very stiff - almost like thin pieces of wood - and the paper doesn't peel around the edges like it usually does if I use a glue stick.

Happy Monday!

Such happy colors! And I love hearing about how others do their minis. Should be very sturdy for those little hands to page through!

As Rinda says, it looks sturdy and well able to stand a lot of looking at, which is great. It's so lovely I can imagine it being kept and admired for many many years to come :)

That is soo cute! I like the technique you have used to secure the pages.

That's just about the technique I use for mini-albums too! It's so easy, but makes such strong pages. I don't have a binder - I really should think hard about buying one... Still I seem to manage well without it!
Love the Bazzill Bling cardstock (?) for the pages - just right for a beach/seaside theme.
The pages look lovely so far - your book will be a great gift when it's finished!

Absolutely beautiful book Deb - but how can it be anything else with such a cutie as that gorgeous little boy?

The book is looking fantastic Deb, your colours are so lovely - my favourites!
Thanks for the tip using the credit card adhering the glue, I like to cover notebooks sometimes and this would be a big help :-)

lovely pages - like the pile of buttons sitting in the background.

I'm addicted to feeding your turtle - just fed them 5 blobs so that all 3 got something - daft or what !

Love it, Sweetie! Your choice of colors is perfect as usual! That little boy is such a cutie..I spent the night there and took him and Presley to school this morning. He woke up giggling at something in his room and continued to laugh the whole time I got him ready! Such a little joy! And his big sister was amazing this morning, too! xo
