A day in the desert...

(Ok, not a great picture of me, but it's cool to see "Four Peaks" in the background, no?)

Our Arizona weather was so beautiful yesterday (low 70's) that Hubby and I decided to take the quad out for an impromptu ride in the desert. This location is about an hour long drive from our house, and just far enough to make us feel like we're completely out of the city.

These pictures don't do it justice [I don't take my 'big girl camera' on these dusty-bumpy-quad-trips] but the sky was SO blue. I mentioned to Hubby that I wonder if the sky is a deeper blue in the winter and we both agreed that neither of us would be able to say, because when it's summer it's too darn hot to appreciate much about being outside here.
And yes, those are cactus on the hillside - lots of them. If you look closely you can see them - they look like little sticks (though they average 8+ feet tall). When we have out-of-state visitors they are always amazed that we really do have cactus here. :o)
And last but not least... I have a very nice collection of heart shaped rocks that Hubby has found for me over the years [See? He can be romantic] and here's one he found yesterday. Cool shadow, eh?

It was so nice to be outside for a while yesterday!
Did you venture outdoors this weekend?
Do tell...
