Good day, blog friends.
♥
I'll make this weekend recap like the weekend itself ~ short and sweet.
One weekend back in January, Doug was working in the backyard and I asked him to clear a little spot in the back corner so I could plant a few sunflower seeds - just to get something growing back there. I'm so glad we did that because that back corner is flourishing. It's fun that the flower stalks are taller than the elk rack that guards the bed.
Just look at that green lawn in the background! Doug even ran the lawn mower over it this weekend.
I have two varieties of sunflowers sprouting. The one shown above will have yellow blooms, and the flower in the next photo should have a deep red flower. I love that the leaves are a different shade of green too. ♥ Oh, and my hollyhocks are finally coming in - must be late bloomers.
I spent a little bit of time outside when I could - the weather was so beautiful. And for the majority of the weekend I was indoors teaching/learning/practicing yoga as I attended my monthly weekend of yoga teacher training workshops. This month's theme was all about the benefits of relaxation. LOVED every minute of the workshops this month!!!
My restorative yoga class on Saturday mornings has had light attendance lately. Here I am, taking a selfie while I wait for students to arrive. Only one did.
This week ~ ooohhhhh, this week! I'm preparing for a trip to Tulum, Mexico for a yoga retreat. :o) There are bags to pack and plans to make and things to take care of at work so I can be away for a week. To say I'm excited would just be a silly understatement.
Things will be a little quiet here at PaperTurtle for the next couple of weeks. I think I'll have all kinds of things to share when I return from my trip.
And with that, I'm off to tackle Monday...
I'll catch you on the flipside.
Adios, amigos!

A yoga retreat sounds blissful ... And I am sure your plants will be a foot higher on your return with those great growing conditions. Hope you have a happy and nourishing time :).
Just look at that lawn! Seems only yesterday Doug was planting those grass seeds.
Have fun at your retreat - you're going to have an amazing time.
Oh I do hope you have a wonderful retreat time. Yeah to Doug getting to cut his grass. All that hard work is paying off for both of you. I like sunflowers & thankfully my chipmunks tend to plant lots of the seeds that we feed them & then forget about them because I then get surprises flowers.
Yay to sunflowers ans sunshine! Have a fab time in Mexico!
Hope you have a wonderful relaxing time at the yoga retreat. Looking forward to seeing the sunflowers bloom.
