A renaissance weekend with my girl

Hey there, friends.
Happy Monday to each of you.
This was another weekend for the memory books. We spent our time - from Friday night to Sunday evening - with friends and family. Surround that with Arizona's springtime weather and you have yourself a fantastic couple of days!

Doug and I had dinner with friends on Friday night and then dinner with his family on Saturday night. Lots of laughs and good times there - not to mention lots of yummy food and our fair share of drink. ;o) We were temporarily locked out of our house on Friday evening, so Carrie came to our rescue and sat and visited with us for a while. Loved that!

Saturday morning's yoga class was awesome - a second chance to lead yoga and I was way more comfortable with it this week. Yay! And then yesterday Carrie and I headed out to the annual Renaissance Festival. We had so much fun, and these are the photos I have to share...

Lots of sunshine, lots of people...

Every year I say I'm going to buy one of these scarves with beads and coins that jingle. This year I did it.

Last year I talked myself out of buying one of these ceramic mushrooms for our garden. This year I got my mushroom too.

And Carrie and I both got henna tattoos, as per the usual.

There was also a bit of hula hooping where the fun factor is a bit more enhanced if you are wearing a scarf with beads and coins that jingle.

One of the things I love about the Renaissance Festival is all the color - bright colors every where you look...

Awesome, awesome, awesome weekend. I hope yours was awesome too!
Here's to the new week ahead...

Exactly how did you lock yourselves out?!

:o) Well...we caught a ride home on Friday night and left Doug's truck at our friends house. Got dropped off at home and then realized our only way in was through the garage and Doug's garage door opener was in his truck at our friend's house. Oops!

Fun times! My niece just moved here and has mentioned that I take her to a Renaissance Festival. I'm not even sure there is one close by.
My Granddaughter got a jingle skirt at Irish Fest and loves to dance around in it. I'll have to add a hula hoop to see how she does.

I love those mushrooms and I look forward to seeing yours in the future. I know you'll show her looking all pretty in your garden and such! You look so much like Carrie in your hula hoop picture!!

Love this post ~ it's absolutely bursting with colour! I used to wear one of those beaded scarves during Zumba classes, great fun!

Gorgeous sparkly glass in that sunshine of yours!

I don't think I would have needed too much persuading to buy a scarf like that either

We have a few of those mushrooms :) I was hoping you'd model the belly dancing scarf in a future post and you took care of it in this one! Maybe your next learning experience can be belly dancing, bet you would rock it.

Woah, how did it get to be summer over there? All that colour is a sight for our grey-ed out eyes. Not to mention seeing you with the hula hoop - such fun!

I love getting henna. But I love the original look from India, like you got, not the random things they will draw with it. I have always thought that the henna at Indian weddings is absolutely beautiful. A few years ago I considered getting sleeve but I did not go through with it. I think I am too old now.
