I made these cherry pie jars last week for a friend and I'll admit that at the time I thought it would make a fun blog post. :o)
I used a couple of cans of crescent roll dough, rolled out onto some granulated sugar, and some canned cherry pie filling. I cut circles from the dough for the pie crust, and baked at 350° for about 20 minutes until the bottom crust was golden brown. I did place a little piece of foil on top of each jar after 10 minutes to keep the top crusts from getting too brown.
I had seen an idea for a cherry embellishment a long time ago, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to bust it out. I painted two wooden beads bright red...
...and then I strung them onto the ends of a piece of jute.
I cut circles from some scrapbook paper I had on hand {Who says I'll never use up that massive collection?!?!} and packaged up the jars like this:
My friend liked her birthday pie jars. :o)

Gorgeous cherry pie jars, and I love those big red beads! I have just finished sewing a cherry project which would go well with your jars! Lovely to catch up with you, Deb.
Happy week.
