October in my Garden

I recently read "A gardener's best tool is the knowledge from previous seasons," (Amy Tomolonis)
and it really resonated with me. If you've thought I was gifted with a green thumb, I'd chuckle at that thought because I really wasn't. I'm a bit hit-and-miss with this gardening gig, but playing in this dirt for the past couple of years, paying attention to light and shade, remembering what plants did well during the previous season, and a little bit of fussing over these babies (removing dead blooms and leaves) has helped make my garden a place I love to dwell.

What do you pay attention to and fuss over
on your piece of the planet?

We've been fussing over our pumpkins and hoping they would ripen in time. We went to the shops and bought a couple of back ups at the end of last week though!

Lovely! I've got a brown thumb, myself. But I'm trying! We are all done until May here, though.

It's Lovely! I love that tree! According to my husband I'm always fussing over organizing something. But right now I'd say I'm fussing over tiny crocheted hats.

I am admiring all that colour in your garden still - we are into the faded look over here :). It's the sheer quantity of leaves that need sweeping up on a daily basis ( most of them water logged ) which is grabbing my attention!

Your garden looks so lovely and vibrant still! Ours is looking so dull now and just covered with falling leaves!

I love that quote too! And "The best fertilizer is a gardener's shadow!". Over here I've been laboring over my violas but my mums have died. I am NOT good at growing flowers. And I'm keeping a very close eye on the caterpillars living in our parsley plant. They are GORGEOUS and getting ..bigger by the day. I really hope we get to see the butterflies they become. Anyway, I really enjoyed the look around your lovely garden!!! Happy Halloween, Deb!

Loving all the color in your garden. I spend a lot of money on plants every year. So sad to say all have died. The only thing that seems to grow for me is Fox Tail. I guess I need to fuss over them a little more. LOL

Is that No Digging sign working?

So lovely! We're in the process of cleaning out all our gardens, and hoping to get daffodil bulbs planted before the ground freezes.

It's lovely looking at your garden and it's inspired me to add a bit of colour to my garden next year x

What delightful pictures to see this morning after waking up to snow on the ground. Thanks for the cheering up.
