Easy Going Weekend Recap

Good day, blog friends.
I hope this post finds you already enjoying the brand new week.

My Monday morning started out a bit off, but I think it's on the upward swing now! Doug was away this weekend, and I was feeling very low energy. I really took it easy on Saturday, but made up for the down time on Sunday. Come on in...

Friday night I watched a cool documentary on Netflix called "Happy." It was interesting to hear the scientific findings on what makes people happy. :o) {Spoiler: it ain't the money.}

Saturday morning I went to yoga and stretched my hips and wrists and shoulders...ok...everything to the extreme. I came home from class, ate a light lunch, and fell asleep for three and a half hours! What the...? I never take naps and the next thing I knew I'd slept a chunk of the day away. I suppose it was just what I needed. I spent the rest of the day on the couch in charge of the remote control while the King of the Castle was away.

On Saturday I received a sweet card from my Aunt Sharon containing a couple of photos of my parents on their wedding day in 1960. They were babies! So much water under that bridge...

By Sunday morning my mood had lifted, and I spent my day more productively. An early morning trip to the grocery store meant that it wasn't too hot yet {although our temps were quite tolerable over the weekend} and then I made my grandma's zucchini bread. {zucchini = courgette}

This boy was good company this weekend.

And I took a bunch of photos of this guy's habitat this weekend. I'll share those soon.

And with that, I'm off to tackle the week ahead. Here's hoping it flies by because we're looking at a three-day weekend on the horizon...

Have a great one, everyone!
:o)

We're on the last day of our three day weekend! My plan for the rest of this afternoon is to get to grips with Feedly and catch up with lots of blog friends in the process :o)

We're on our three day weekend today.
Sounds like that post-yoga nap was just what your body needed!

Sounds like a perfect weekend! I, on the other hand, spent Friday with last minute packing, mending, shopping, and loading cars for my girls. Spent Saturday driving to Bloomsburg, unloading said cars into apartments, setting up rooms, more last minute shopping, driving home exhausted and emotionally drained on auto-pilot thereby missing my exit and driving 20 miles past it before I realized my mistake (UGH!!!). Spent Sunday cleaning out their room - stripping the beds down to the mattresses, washing ALL the bedding, cleaning under the beds (eewwwwww), organizing the closet, multiple loads of laundry, and too much more to list. But I have made some progress in being able to walk past their room without cringing and reclaiming my home from all of their miscellaneous CRAP all over the place. Can we trade weekends?

Glad that a good stretch and a nap was so restorative. Sometimes, I think we just need to listen to our bodies :). I think I am going to adopt the acronym EGW and try and have one once a month!

I had a low key weekend too. The first time in several weeks that I had time to sit down and create! We had dinner with church friends on Saturday night, and dinner and bridge with our duplicate group last night. Tracy and Matt did some heavy lifting yesterday as we're in the midst of redoing a sidewalk. I just took photos and supervised!

I'd love to be able to nap like that! You're right, it's just what you needed!

Upon closer inspection of why Lucky is such an entertaining little fellow I have decided it is his eyebrows. Now, I know they are hard to see but seriously, he has a face for comedy ... I hope his indiscretion wasn't too terrible!

I hope you are feeling brighter again by now. You must have needed that sleep!

I am a firm believer in sleeping when you need to and not feeling guilty about it. David had been known to send me to bed on a Sunday afternoon because I am grouchy (just like a naughty child) and I always feel so much better when I get up!

I find that every once in a while, our bodies can demand a big power-down kind of day. They always seem to result in renewed energy for me, I think you too.

It sounds like a relaxed and chilled-out weekend :) I'd say it's really refreshing to be back to yoga. Your zucchini bread sounds fab (though we call them courgettes on this side of the pond!). Lovely photos too x
