Beach Weekend Recap

It's Monday morning, friends.
Doug and I had a great time relaxing in Southern California this past weekend. This morning I'm sharing a few photos from around the beach, and I'll have more from our weekend later this week. I was able to get a few more photos for Rinda's Summertime Scavenger Hunt and I'm excited to share those with you tomorrow.

I took Friday off work and we headed to San Diego early that morning. Our first stop was new to us - Torrey Pines State Park. We picked up a few of these flat beach rocks, and I plan to stack them in little arrangements here and there.

Torrey Pines beach was so pretty, and not nearly as crowded as our usual hang out spot. Plus we got to see a bride and groom being photographed.

We stayed at Pacific Beach and there were lots of beach goers there...as usual...

We did lots of walking which is always nice when there are ocean waves crashing within earshot.

And cute little birds to photograph. And this awesome pier that I always love to walk out on and always say, "I could never sleep in one of these cabins!" Every time.

This guy...

One little mishap: I dropped my good camera. {gulp} I think it's in pretty bad shape, but I won't know until someone at the camera shop tells me how bad. Shoot. When it happened I found myself repeating in my head: "It's just a camera, Deb...just a camera..."

So, anyway, we did a little bit of this too...

Along with the beautiful ocean view, we also managed to meet up with my step-brothers and their families, saw a few new sights this time around, and went to the Farmer's Market in Little Italy. The weather was fantastic!!!

And just like that, it's time for another work week. I still have remnants of sand on my flip flops, and typing this post reminded me that those flat beach rocks are still on the backseat floor of my car.

Oooh I wonder what kind of awesomeness is in store for us this week!
I hope your week is just as awesome.

Welcome back! Sounds as if you had a very relaxing, long weekend. Well, except for the camera mishap. Hopefully it can be fixed. I love the cabins on the pier but I don't think I could sleep there either.

Sounds like a great weekend! I'm sorry about the camera. I've dropped before, and the wizards at Canon can usually fix things up. Good luck!

Looks like a wonderful relaxing weekend - and that beach crowd is nothing! I'll have to get the shots off my iPhone to see if I came even close to capturing what wall to wall people looks like. (Although I think my shots were too early in the day for that). So sorry to hear about your camera. Maybe that means an upgrade is in your future?

The perspective of your shots is just fabulous Deb - they are so interesting to look at and the colour of the beach and surrounds is gorgeous.

*Gulp* about the camera though ... hopefully the techies can fix it up good as new!

Love the photos especially the one of the birds and the one of Doug. So sorry about your camera, fingers crossed. I think you should have a stack of rocks on your desk with a little sand sprinkled around that would center me every day :)

Yay, so glad you guys had a nice time! Those rocks are so cool and I look forward to your future photos. A few months ago I inserted my SD card into the camera upside down and it was totally stuck. I cried like a baby. I took it to the camera shop and didn't breathe for the 2 weeks it took them to fix it. But they could and, $140 later, it was back at home. Oh, the relief. I know how you feel and I hope it turns out okay!!! XOXO

"remnants of sand on my flip flops." What a great phrase! I love that first picture of the stones on Torrey Pines. And I can't wait to see the cairns you create.
