Wait. What?
It's Monday morning? Already?!?!
Well, thinking back from Friday night to current, my mind is in a swirling blur. We were so busy with a whole bunch of fun stuff, it's no wonder our weekend went by so quickly. Here's a little look at what we did this weekend, and then I'm off to dive in to a busy week ahead. And, not that I want to wish the upcoming week away, but I already can't wait for the upcoming weekend for a little relaxation time!
♥
Doug and I usually have dinner out on Friday nights, but because we'd had dinner out on Thursday {for Carrie's birthday}, and because I was making cupcakes for our niece's graduation party for the next day, we stayed home and I baked. I'll have a post dedicated to cupcakes later in the week. Haha - something for you to look forward to, I'm sure.
On my way home from work on Friday, I stopped by the grocery store for a few baking supplies, and on a whim decided to buy a toy for Lucky. He's SOOoooooo cute when he gets a new toy, it just cracks us up. Anyway, this yellow wiener dog toy lasted about 30-minutes - pretty sure he won't be receiving any more plush toys in the future. The little orange rubber blob is more practical for him, as that toy has been around for a couple of months. ~sigh~ He digs, he chews, he loves and makes us happy.
I wanted to save the cupcakes for another post this week, but here's a look at one batch I made...
Saturday afternoon we celebrated our niece's graduation, and from there we headed downtown on the light rail to see a Diamondback game. Carrie had organized a group of friends to meet us there for a continued birthday celebration. Dante rode with us. He's one of Carrie's best friends - we've known him since the third grade and they were drum majors together during their senior year in high school.

This was our first time at a baseball game this season. It always sounds like a good idea to go to a game, and once I'm in the throes of it, I get kinda' cranky. It was a really hot weekend in these parts, there are so many people, and, I don't know...I just never seem to enjoy it as much as I think I will going in. I even went so far as to declare that I'd never go to another baseball game downtown. But I'm sure I will...someday...
Then yesterday, Doug and I headed back to the downtown area to see the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit at the Arizona Science Center. It was really interesting - the dude was an incredible visionary, artist, inventor, scientist, wow... I was just a wee-bit disappointed that the dinosaur exhibit wasn't on display anymore, as I was sure that would allow me an easy check-off item on the list for Rinda's Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt. Nope - too late - so now I need to find a dinosaur somewhere...
Ok, I just read over the text in this post and I think I sound a little grouchy. Hm. With all of the baking I did this weekend, along with the socializing and sight seeing, I didn't get a whole lot done around our house. Ah, but I'm pretty sure it will all be waiting for me when our next weekend rolls around.
And with that, I'm off to embrace a new week
{and begin working my way to Friday...}
Hope it's a happy one for all of you!

Your opening words made me smile as I often hear, "Wait. What?" from the lips of my daughter! That was a super busy weekend. I think I was a bit grouchy after mine the week before. Although everything that I did was lots of fun, there was no time to just breathe!
That sounds like a great weekend! baseball and cupcakes and your girl and family and friends! hooray! have a wonderful week! I'm exhausted from working at the church festival all weekend. But it was all for a good cause!
What a busy weekend! Hope that your week goes by quickly and you can find time to relax again! We are moving Penny's furniture out of her flat this weekend, so we are going to be super busy! Fortunately Ben is coming home to help us out :)
No, it's hard to ever hear you sounding grouchy!
you, grouchy??? not possible! I had a crazy busy weekend too but it involved lots of errands to stores like Lowes and Home Depot and lots of time spent in the basement sorting and tossing and two trips to the Care & Share Shops to drop off donations. And more of the same to come!
It does sound like a truly busy weekend....you need another weekend to get over it!!
as Sian said, can't connect you and grouchy. Lucky looks so adorable even when surrounded by the remains of a toy
No, cannot imagine a grouchy Deb! That photo of Lucky is priceless, and I'm pleased to see that Coco isn't the only one with a liking for the stuffing in toys. The only ones that survive here are the flat ones that look like 'roadkill'!
It sounds like a busy weekend but I totally know the feeling about being so busy you need time to relax again!
You always seem to cram so much into a weekend...sounds like a fun time
Alison xx
I was just about to write nearly the same comment as Alison. Good thing I saw hers first. I'll just say, "Ditto." You amaze me nearly every weekend! Looks like lots of fun.
You know, the heat does that to you! I mean cooking in weather you've had ... crazy stuff!
Last weekend, this week and next weekend are all a bit bonkers for us, then we have a week that's slower and it starts all over again! I hear you loud and clear!
That little dogs face! so adorable and those cupcakes! just gorgeous. I hope your week is calm and not too hot for you. You could send some heat over to the UK, we have rain forecast for the whole week!!!
Sounds very full but fun :) Love Lucky's face. I am totally relaxing today and catching up on so many blogs. I am looking forward to a slowdown and maybe even making some cupcakes ;)
What a fun but very busy weekend x
That tassel is beautiful. We have found some chew resistant toys at the humane society that have lasted longer than the typical pet store variety.
Rinda
Definitely sounds like a full weekend. That toy reminds me of my sister's husky - she tears apart toys in no time flat. :) Too bad about the dinosaur, I hope you find another one somewhere.
