Our England Trip ~ Day 5

From my travel journal: "Waking up in Liverpool was so awesome! We were tired from the night before, but just couldn't stop smiling over the great time we were having. After breakfast we bundled up and headed out again - we had some serious souvenir shopping to do!"

We spent a fun morning walking around Albert Dock and buying trinkets to take home with us. It was super cold down by the waterfront, but Carrie gave in to my pleading and went on the ferris wheel with me.

I'll admit that on the first go-around I almost freaked out about how high we were, but then I relaxed and just took in the beauty of Liverpool. I loved it!

After the ferris wheel ride we were feeling pretty giddy...

Have I mentioned that we loved Liverpool?
:o)

We caught the train going back to London, and made our way to Wagamama for some hot noodle soup. Several people had told us about Wagamama, and we were determined to try it just once. I loved it, Carrie thought it was ok, and we checked that off our list of places to eat while in England.

I loved the use of "Way out" instead of "Exit" in England! :o)

After dinner we headed back to our hotel where we got ourselves ready for an evening at the theater. When we first started talking about our England trip, Carrie said she wanted to see Viva Forever and I was right on board with that. The Spice Girls played a big part in our lives back in 1997 {before we met Doug} and it seemed only fitting that we have a little dose of Girl Power whilst in England! ;o)

The show itself was...well...just ok. We enjoyed the music and the comedy and the evening together at Picadilly Theatre.

I think we were both a little distracted that evening. I know I was.
Early the next morning we'd be heading to Paris!

I love seeing all your photos - makes me realise how much we've still got to see - I think Liverpool is one place I'll have to go to with Emily. Do you know I've never been to Wagamamas! Hugh goes regularly with his friends but I haven't got round to it yet.

You obviously had a great day...I'm afraid I've never been to Liverpool....though it is on my list....you wouldn't get me on the ferris wheel...it was bad enough going on the London Eye....and I only did that once it was dark!!!

Another terrific recap. Glad you liked wagamama. I'm too afraid to go on ferris wheels myself.

These posts are wonderful. I've never been to liverpool but it looks wonderful. I laughed at your observation of the way out signs. I don't even think about it!

Deb, as I pop by to read your updates it strikes me as really strange to see the muted UK colours on your blog ... it was the same in reverse when Mel was in the US a while ago ... I think I get so used to a particular type of photograph with certain colour etc.

Great seeing your pictures of Liverpool. I've never been there but want to next time we're in England as that's where my Grandpa was from. Now as for the ferris wheel - I think I'll skip that. :)
