Good Monday morning, blog friends.
♥
I'm typing with a bit of a NyQuil hangover this morning, having muddled my way through a weekend with a stupid head cold. It was a perfect weekend to snuggle up inside and take it easy. This morning I'm giving you just a few photos from our weekend.
We had a good amount of rain this weekend, and I know that it will be great for Arizona wildflowers! I thought about going out for a walk in this - just to practice for our upcoming trip to England - but decided to stay inside where things were warm and dry.
This boy, on the other hand, was out and about in full force - Rex loves the rain!
And speaking of Rexy, Doug and I have worried about him all winter, as it seemed like he never completely hibernated. We'd see him once in a while during the winter months, out of his hut moving verrrry slowly and never eating anything we offered. But this weekend he was out and about, looking healthy as can be, and with an appetite to match. Looks like he'll have to become more familiar with a camera once again!
Saturday, more rain and dark clouds - all day. We've just about decided that this poor little tree is going to have to be removed. It's been struggling since we moved in here, and we've been nursing it the best we can. However, we think this past winter's freeze was the final straw. Sad.
We had all of Doug's family over for a backyard breakfast yesterday morning, and our weather was amazing for the occasion! Our backyard looks so much better wrapped in sunshine!
It's been so long since our group has gone camping, and I was really missing a good ol' camping breakfast, so my three SIL's and I made camping-breakfast-food {potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, fruit salad, and biscuits}. One word: yum!
It's always a fun time when we get together with our family. Oh, and speaking of family, this was Lucky's debut with my in-laws and he did so well. There was no begging for food or jumping or barking. Good doggy!
Ok, well, this feels like a very disjointed weekend recap, but that's about par for the course here. And with that I'm off to blow my nose again {ew, I know...} and take on the week ahead. It's hard to believe that Carrie and I leave for England ONE WEEK from Wednesday. {Yikes and yay all rolled in to one!} :o)
Here's hoping spring is springing on your piece of the planet.
Enjoy the upcoming week, sweet friends!

I'm smiling at the thought of you practising the rain..I like that! But I'm glad you stayed in the dry and gave that cold a good chance of disappearing before your trip
I think you may need to practise the snow,Deb....in your mind anyways....we've had about 3 inches of the yucky stuff today....and more is forecast in the south east....or better still....bring some Arizona sunshine with you!!
Lucky sounds like the perfect kind of dog! And I'm sure you are going to love England regardless of the weather. Sarah is still planning a trip back!
Yes, definitely bring a suitcase full of those blue skies and sunshine - we've had enough of the cold stuff!
I too felt a little 'heady' this morning but think mine was due to the Mother's Day cocktails Rachel made for me yesterday (gin, black raspberry liqueur and prosecco!)
Hope the cold goes away very soon, you need to be fighting fit for your trip!
Hope that cold leaves you quickly, be gentle with yourself this week. You definitely want to be 100% for that flight. Is your stopover in NYC?
Very exciting to say that I'm meeting you at the end of next week!!
nearly choked on my tea from laughing at your comment on practicing with rain!! love the photo of lucky under the chair
I love your weekend recap - just wonder if your rainy weather was cold enough for it to feel like England ;) I was just thinking it's just over a week till you leave - how exciting!
xx
Pack your thermals Deb, or buy some when you get here. It's -2 today, in the South West, with wild winds and horizontal snow!

Precious little turtle!
I want to see the strawberries you made...and what are you and Carrie (who looks so young!) going to do with them?
I wouldn't pack light.
Take lots of pics, I'll be watching!!
Oh! I got confused. Carrie is your daughter (and she is young :) not your friend in the UK. (who might be young also...which is fine :)
Looks like a nice weekend. You made me laugh saying about practising in the rain for coming here! Sooo cold today and snowing! Reallymhopemit warms up a bit before you come over!
ardGravy? Please tell me you don't mean the stuff we have here in the UK with a roast dinner? I'm going to be wondering now what your gravy is!
I love that picture of Doug and his dog. And the backyard wrapped in sunshine is gorgeous!

Your patio is so lovely! I'm another fan of the photo with Doug and Lucky. Hope you're feeling better now!
Sorry that all your tender loving care went to not with the tree. Yeah for Lucky being so well mannered.
Hopeing you get over that cold before the trip. Flying with a cold is no fun.
