The Weekend-I-Saw-Donny-Osmond Recap

:o)

Here's how it went down:

Chrismas has happened around these parts.

Carrie's friend {whose parents are originally from England} gave me some mincemeat tarts.  I've always wondered what mincemeat tasted like, and now I know. Besides being really cute, they were yummy! {Thanks, Lindsay!}

I kind of decorated the work Christmas tree this weekend. It was my first year digging through the decoration boxes there, and it turns out that we could use a few things in the mix. I tried my hand at making some ornaments out of "work parts," but that was a crafting fail {can't win 'em all} so there's still work to be done on the office Christmas tree.

Doug was actually working at my office while I was kind of decorating the tree. He painted the hallways and it looks so nice. I got sandwiches from our local sandwich shop for our lunch on Saturday. {Local friends: must try! SE corner of Warner & Dobson.}

I took a few photos of the baby turtles...

And then, friends, I saw Donny Osmond. It is ridiculous how excited I was to finally see my teenage crush! And! The box office called our house on Friday afternoon to say that our original seats had an "obstructed view" and they were moving us forward 11 rows. We ended up with great seats, and Carrie even liked the show. Oh yeah, Marie was there too, and she was great - they both were.
~sigh~

All in all, it was a very productive weekend. I got a start on a little bit of shopping, finished up three handmade gifts, baked a batch of banana bread, and did a ton of laundry. I could really use a couple more days of weekend!
Happy Christmas time, everyone.
Wishing you a week full of comfort and joy.

Denise will be very jealous of your Donny trip!
British mince pies are a bit confusing to those who don't know that there are two types of mincemeat! They are quite tasty aren't they?

I love Donny Osmond - saw him YEARS ago in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. My daughters had no clue who he was, but still enjoyed the show - he has such a beautiful voice.

My sister used to have a poster of Donny on our bedroom wall - we wouldn't undress in font of it in case he could see! Sounds like you had a good weekend x

Glad you liked the mince pies :). Your banana bread sounds delicious (can you tell I am hungry?). Donny Osmund - wow! I remember him too ... Glad you had such a wonderful time. Your little turtle photo is very cute.

I've never had mincemeat although my great-aunt (with whom we lived for many years) loved it. As a kid, there was no way I was trying it. The name itself turned me off. Sounds like a great weekend!

Sounds like you are full of festive fun. My girl turns fifteen on Thursday. No Christmas decorations for us until after birthday fun.

I have to say that I think the turtle is cuter than Donny!
But I think it's super cute how excited you are!

I'm glad you got to try mincemeat - it's kind of a hard flavour to describe, isn't it? lol

It's funny, I was never a Donny fan, but I have seen him being interviewed on tv a couple of times recently and now I think he seems like a really nice man. Bet you had fun!

I never thought about the fact that you don't have mince pies over there. Mince pies are the start of Christmas for me - as soon as it's December I have mince pies :) x

Sounds like it was a fun weekend. Mincemeat - I just never could get that taste much to my Mum's chagrin.
