Right now - my piece of the planet

Good day, blog friends!
I'm up early this morning and have just enjoyed
some time outside taking photos of my garden.
Wanna' see?
 ♥

It's time for the third and final round of sunflowers for this season. These stand about 3' tall and are just starting to open. Hooray!

We've had so much rain the past couple of weeks! Everything is really green right now {and the mosquitoes are plentiful!}.

The big boys. I'm not sure, but I think these guys just couldn't handle the 115° temps we had for a while. Either that or the tops of this type of flower are just too heavy? Anyway, you can see that the stalks and leaves are thriving, but the flowers are going to seed - which is another cool thing about them.

My basil plant is at its all time high and oh-so-yummy. I need to figure out a pesto recipe and try it out on Doug.

And last but not least, these are in my garden {makes me so happy}

It feels kind of strange to take photos, create a blog post, and actually publish it all within an hour's time {lol}. I'm off to take care of a few things around the house, then it's a hair appointment, and then lunch and shopping with my girl C.

Life is good right now,
here on my piece of the planet.

Your sunflowers continue to add sunshine round here! Did I tell you I bought a potful - I keep running outside to bring them in out of the rain so they don't get too battered

I have nothing in bloom here right now. Just a lot of green. Love your pretty garden though! Enjoy the day with your gorgeous girl!

Hope you had fun out with your girlie. I went to lunch with my sister in law and 15 year old niece. It was really lovely to catch up as they live 6 hours drive away.

Your little patch of garden looks glorious! That basil will make wonderful pesto and it would also be great shredded over strawberries with a little lemon juice and balsamic ... not to mention over fresh pasta and tomatoes .... mmmmmm!

Enjoy your weekend

Your sunflowers are still looking good and that basil - WOW - anytime I grow it it's little teeny bits. :)
