Rexy's Crib (and a border for Rinda)

My collection of photos of Rex and his habitat {aka our atrium} continues to grow, and as I was shooting a few more photos last weekend I thought, "Hey, I can use this one for prompt #3 in Rinda's summer photography scavenger hunt challenge."

The border shown is some scalloped brick edging that we {Doug} pulled out of the front flowerbed when we moved into this house. We've managed to get rid of most of the pieces, but used a few of them here to separate dirt from ground-cover-rock in Rexy's habitat.

When we moved into this house last year, there were four slats of wood remaining in the old gate, and when Doug replaced it I had him save the boards for future use. I wasn't sure what we'd use them for at the time, but they've ended up working out great for a little turtle hut so Rexy has a place to hide during the day, and sleep at night.

The antlers are some that Doug has found on his hunting/hiking trips. {Fact: Animals with antlers "drop" their antlers every year and grow new/bigger ones to replace the previous set. Just in case you've never experienced it, finding them out in nature is really cool!}

Are you participating in Rinda's photography challenge?
If so, what did you photograph for your border shot?
And if not, look around you today - where do you notice a border or two?
:o)

I love the way Rex has painted the daisy on that top stone, such a talented little turtle (just like his mum!)
I haven't got round to 'border' yet on the hunt, tomorrow I intend to photograph 'a horse'. There's a riding stables near where I live and sometimes the horses are up close to the fence which borders the road. Fingers crossed they are near enough to snap tomorrow!

Rex has a great little home. I like how you have given him little "zones" - a box to sleep in, a flowery part, some bushes, a pool... plus "designer decor" too - he is a lucky turtle.

What a wonderful residence he has! You have created a little miniature world here ...

Rexy has quite the man cave. Now all he needs is a beer.
