I plan to put all the photos and recipes in a book, and there's also a blog giveaway in our future to win your own copy. More on that later! Now let's get to my weekend recap, shall we?
♥
After reading Carrie's post about self-portraits, I decided to commit to taking a photo of myself every week. I won't post them all here on my blog, but I wanted to share this one. My Instagram caption read: "Doug has gotten pretty good at helping with a ponytail. Will be so glad when I can lift my right arm again!" {Yeah, the shoulder still ails me.}
Anyway, I took that SP just before work on Friday, and even though including Friday in my weekend recap isn't precise, I thought you'd also like to see what I look at while sitting at my desk at my new job. Candy. Chocolate candy. As I will be responsible for purchasing candy for this dish in the future, I figure I'll buy some kind of candy that I don't like. Logical, right?
We had friends over on Saturday for some yardwork and a barbeque. Early in the day I had to make a trip to the grocery store, and on my way out of the neighborhood I noticed a yard sale. Picked up this little porcelain travel iron for $10.
Sunday morning Doug, Carrie and I all went to see The Hunger Games. Carrie had read the book a year ago, then made Doug and I both read it as well. Loved the book, loved the movie. Carrie was so excited - we had to take pictures for her Project Life.
After the movie we had lunch at BJ's Brewhouse...
And later in the afternoon Carrie and I went for pedicures...
Dear Universe: Why is it every time we go for a pedicure I get a technician that cuts me? Seriously? Carrie was in the chair next to me falling asleep and I was wincing in pain and bleeding! {Weird angle on my foot there...and for the record, my toes do look pretty now.}
Good thing I have Whiskers to sooth me.
Isn't that right, angel cat?
Isn't that right, angel cat?

Back to week number two at my new job.
I'm learning lots and there is a lot to learn.
Doug and I are both adjusting to me being back to work full time.
It's all good and we are happy. ;o)

Love that Carrie's SP habit is rubbing off on you. When I worked I always had a jar of candy on the counter where people came into my office. I started out buying candy I didn't like but got so conditioned to not going in the jar I could put things I liked and not worry. I've never been cut getting a pedicure, that would greatly deter me!!!
Wow Deb - you had a crazy busy fun weekend! Hunger Games will be next weekend for me. This weekend was fully booked. And I seem to have the same experience with pedicures as you. Love the final result, but never really enjoy the process...
I love your SP! That is such a good look for you! I've been cut twice during pedicures--now I do my own and go to the salon to have them polished. I my "condition" I can't afford the germs!
Don't know if I'll see "Hunger Games" but I'm definitely seeing "Mirror, Mirror" next week! Light-hearted movies are my choice lately.
Have a wonderful week, Sweetie! Love you! xoxo
A really busy weekend,Deb....all sounds fun though.
It sounds like a pretty good weekend, apart from the pedicure, that is. Hunger Games? Not sure if it's for me - tho I'm prepared to be persuaded
You always have the most interesting weekends! My husband and daughter have read The Hunger Games; it's not for me. Tracy's anxious to see the movie. I only go to one nail technician for my pedicures. I've had too many unpleasant experiences, so I'm willing to pay a bit more for a truly relaxing and carefully done pedicure. I'm not so picky about manicures, though.
Everyone is talking about the hunger games here too!
I've never had a pedicure because, well, actually, I hate feet. Hate touching my own feet, could never touch anyone else's and wouldn't want someone else touching mine! Having said that, I always varnish my toenails and look after them but on a list of things to do pedicures doesn't even make the top 50!
Yay for self portraits and good weekends! Thanks for everything yesterday - it was fun to spend the day with you and Doug. Let's do the exact same thing again next week!
Great SP and sounds like a great weekend....have never had been cut having a pedicure either!

My sister has some horror stories about pedicures ... from holidays in Asia, and ended up in minor toe surgical procedures ... yeurkkk!
Anyway, I am impressed with Doug's hairdressing skillz - he is a truly multi-talented human!
Re The Hunger Games? Didn't you think the movie needed more Peeta?
Loved the Hunger Game books, we also went to see the movie, what a great adaptation, I even liked the added parts of the production of the games "reality show"
I just finished the trilogy this weekend - I am excited to see the movie, although the whole series was quite gruesome eh? anyway, I will wait to see it when my friend returns from vacation! i agree - buy the chocolate you don't like!
