A quick look at my visit with my mom...

Hello friends!

Thank you for your lovely comments and well wishes over the past week. I've returned from my visit to California where I visited my mom and have a few photos to share with you. Surprisingly, I really didn't take many photos with my regular camera - just didn't get it out much for whatever reason. What I do have are some Instagrams, so I'll share those here so you can see.

I took a walk one morning in my mom's neighborhood and shot the above photo of a huge tree in their neighbor's yard. At the time it represented how cold it was - it was a chilly walk! Might not look cold to you, but for me it still represents chilly!

I attended my niece's basketball game {Presley's the one on the left} and loved seeing her play. She got better as the game progressed as she was getting frustrated. Frustration turns to competitive in a situation like that, don't you know.
Presley came to Grandma's house to hang out for a while after the game.
It's become a tradition {or habit} for me to make chocolate chip cookies while I'm at my mom's house {note her strawberry canisters}. This time I made two batches - one for all of us to eat, and another batch for the freezer for Mom to bake later on.
Even though Mom had received a round of chemo earlier in the week, she was feeling well enough to be out and about on Monday morning {her doctor had prescribed a patch for nausea this time and it was magic!!!}. We went to Starbucks and I just loved their February cups!
We walked around the mall for a little while, and had lunch at McDonald's {a rare occasion for me}.
I love this photo of my mom looking so happy and relaxed!
And before I knew it, it was time to come home. I was happy that my flight let out down this particular wing of the airport so I could jam on the moving sidewalks {LOVE those things!!!}.

And with that, I'm off to get a few things done around my house.
Gosh, can it really be Wednesday already?
I hope you are having a fabulous week so far.
xo

Your mum looks so happy in that photo, I'm sure having you all come to visit was the best medicine she could have had.
That blue sky doesn't look so chilly to me, bearing in mind I have just come back from a frozen walk in the snow with Rachel's puppy!

So glad to hear that you had a good visit with you Mom and so nice to see that she is "lookin' mighty fine!" {said in my best ghetto voice, but with the deepest of admiration}

The cookies look good... the McD's...not so much. I usually end up having it when I travel, but it definitely isn't healthy stuff!

Debs14 is right! You were definitely the best medicine and having you here did me a world of good--even though I was up 2 pounds at my doctor's visit yesterday (can you say "had a few too many chocolate chip cookies??) Feeling a little blue with you gone but looking forward to our next time together--hurry March!!! Love you! xoxo

A gorgeous photo of your mum! Worth the distance travelled for that smile alone.
Can't remember the last time I went to McDonald's and The Boy Child has never been ...

Oh Deb, how great to see such a lovely photo of your mum, looking happy and relaxed. I'm glad you had a good visit and hope you can go back soon!
I think I'd like to have you for a house-guest, if you'd make cookies for my freezer too (hee hee!).

It was lovely to see the snapshots of your time with your Mum. I love that photo of her and I bet she loved having you there. As for those Starbucks cups, too cute! I'm going to our Starbucks tomorrow and I'm going to ask why we never get the cute cups ;o)

sounds like a great trip with your mum, she looks amazing in that photo. I am seeing my dad for a holiday soon and can't wait. Hoping I can do lots of cooking and looking after him too. Sadly his chemo has had to stop but at least he isn't feeling grotty every fortnight, just need his leg to heal and his strength to build up now. Sending big hugs your way and to your mum too xxx
