Arizona Road Trip Recap

Today I'm sharing a few photos taken on our little road trip last weekend.

I'm so excited about this first photo. Now that I know more about my camera settings, I was able to get a photo that really shows the beauty of this spot, with rich colors that really make me feel like I'm standing right there. I have this saved as our desktop wallpaper right now:
At the center/top of the photo you can see Four Peaks, with Roosevelt Lake at the base of the far mountains. And right over the edge where I'm standing is a really deep drop off. Yikes! Don't get too close!!!

See the cliff-face in the next photo? We've seen big horn sheep on it before - and even saw two sheep mating one time! That was a trip!

I look kind of annoyed in the next photo, but I'm not really. :o) The terrain in this area is really different, and you can see the layers of rock all around me.

We discovered this spot several years ago on our way home from our northern property in Young {Arizona Highway 288 between Globe and Young, Arizona}. Doug thought he saw a big horn sheep in the distance and we pulled over so he could glass for a while. Sure enough, they were sheep so we took a side-dirt road and ended up discovering this amazing canyon look out spot. We took my mom and step-dad there one spring when wild flowers were blooming and had a picnic at this same look out. I love the memories from that trip!

Being cooped up in this house without a job and/or the use of my right arm gets a little... well... tedious after a while. This little road trip was just what I needed. {Thanks, Doug! }

PS: If you want a chance to borrow the latest "Pass the Book" don't forget to leave a comment on this post. I'll be announcing the winner tomorrow!

Just had a catch up on your blog and love the photos you've got posted. Your photos on this post remind me a bit of South Africa in the dry summers when the grass can turn brown. I've been feeling a bit homesick for SA after looking at the photos on Norma's blog! xx

Amazing scenery Deb. Your part of the world is so very different to mine! Take the sunshine in January for instance, and just the pure 'dryness' of the landscape. Beautiful, I can see why you love it there.

Love the pics - especially the ones of you and Doug. I'm impressed that you were able to take them with only one arm!

Glad you two had a nice get-away. The title of my "bucket list" is "To see wildflowers bloom in the desert." It's so something I want to do. Nice capture in that first photo. It is surprisingly hard to take good landscape pictures, isn't it?
