This is how I spent my day yesterday.

Very productive, wouldn't you say?

This idea came from a Pinterest pin that my friend Cate showed on her blog. I did a little searching and came up with the original pattern found here. I enlarged the pattern myself, found some cardboard in the garage and started cutting.

If I didn't already need shoulder surgery, I do now. This was some tough stuff to cut! Normally I would ask my oh-so-strong hubby to cut it for me, but it was a surprise for him so I did it myself.

Once he was cut and assembled, he hung out in the kitchen while I made cookies {should have cleared some clutter before photo shoot...} then in the living room while I figured out how I was going to get a wreath around him. {Fancy Jane was curious and/or waiting to eat the fake evergreen.}

I wasn't sure how this would be received by Doug. I hoped he'd get a kick out of it, but wasn't sure how he'd feel about me using my unemployed status to work on a cardboard cut-out that took several hours / most of the day.

Well, he loved it.  :o)!!!

When the laughter subsided he took stalk, as any respectable hunter would, and said, "Hm...he's a six-by-six" {referring to the size of the antlers}.

He's good for some laughs and keeping things merry and light.



And that's what I'm aiming for from here on out.
