The Weekend, Wind, and Turkeys.

Well, my weekend actually started on Friday morning when certain circumstances kept me from going to work. ~sigh~ We'll just leave it at that for now. So, after a rocky start, here's how my long weekend went down...

There's an unwelcomed pest in my garden and it's eating my basil plant, so I added some marigolds to keep it away.

I got happy mail Friday afternoon from Karen {my pass-the-book prize}. :o)

Not gonna' lie. Had a few of these.

And way too many of these:  {yeah. We're still at Friday...}

There was some crazy wind and rain happening Friday night and all day Saturday. We are now the proud{?} owners of this gigantic eucalyptus tree and the thing was swaying to and fro in that wicked wind. I was so worried that a branch would come crashing down but, alas, I worried for not. {eh-hm. How unlike me.}
Seriously? Look at that thing. It's the biggest tree in the neighborhood!

I managed a little sewing {a Kindle cover}...

and a little packaging of mail...

I was fortunate to spend time with Carrie on Saturday and we went to Scottsdale Fashion Square for some retail therapy.

I had my first Sprinkles cupcake {"Oohhh...now I get it..."}

Doug and I were finally able to clear my side of the garage so I can park inside! Yay!!! First time since we moved into our new house. :o)

I'm so excited about Thanksgiving coming up and being able to spend time with my family. I spent some time making turkey stuff and that really got me in the spirit.
And that was it.
Another weekend gone well.
This week: Can't wait till Friday.

November Attitude of Gratitude:
* I'm so grateful this house is really feeling like HOME!
* Ever so happy to be parking in the garage - just before morning-window-freezing-weather starts. {Thank you, Douglas! xo}
* So very thankful for the time spent with Carrie this weekend. We do have some hilarious moments together.

Haha, it was a fun and hilarious time with us this weekend, wasn't it? Thanks so much for a great Saturday - it's been a while since I've had that much fun.

Oh, tell me about those pesky trees, we are surrounded by them and they are all big and they all sway in the windy weather! My parents threaten to bring their chainsaw every time they visit - we did give in and one came down last weekend.

Friday didn't sound too good for you, I hope things are better now ... surely those cupcakes and a day out with Carrie, not to mention some crafting, helped a little?

You certainly packed a lot in there! I hope whatever happened at the end of last week doesn't stop this week from getting off to a great start

Sounds like things got better as the weekend progressed. Cookies, cupcakes and beer: if that doesn't help, nothing will.

Sounds like a busy weekend and one that improved as it went along. Good luck with those marigolds keeping the pests away.

I'm happy to see that Friday was quickly put behind you and you were able to salvage the weekend! Looks like a great one! I spent Saturday resting and sleeping which turned out to be the best medicine! And even did a little of that yesterday after church. So today I should feel like tackling my house and laundry. Would have loved spending that time with my two AZ girls at the mall!!

Thankful for:
1. Having happy kids! And loving that they get along with their kids!
2. Friends at church who will hold your hand when they pray for you.

Love you, Sweetie! xo

Those cupcakes look amazing, as does the mall! We can't get into our garage because of all the construction materials. We're already scraping frost off the windows. Sigh.
