Moving to a new house is like taking care of a newborn baby...

You always forget how much work it is if it's
been a while since you've done it.

We've been busy. We're both exhausted. But we're both happy.

We've learned that a certain someone has issues with change...
{This is the only photo I have of Whiskers so far in the new house. He's not happy.}

...and someone else is purr-fectly content with it.

When Carrie saw the shelves in my craft room closet built
by my brother-in-law she said one word, "Jealous."
{Right...Don did build them level...the slant is from
my artistic photographic interpretation.}

Not having doors on the kitchen cabinets has helped me learn where
everything is without having to open five doors before finding what I want.
 We're getting there...slowly but surely.

We didn't have an internet connection all week and I went through withdrawal the first few days, but after that I got so busy it wouldn't have mattered if we had it or not. I'm super behind on my blog reading and that's probably not going to change for the next week or two.

But I'll get there too...
slowly but surely...

looking good. Decorating a new place does seem to go on for ever - but so worth it in the end

It's looking really good! We're at the other end of the process - everything we did when we moved in 5 years ago now needs done again. We'll be getting out our paintbrushes just as you are packing yours away

I love your wall colour Deb - it looks very similar to the one we have chosen.
Enjoy putting everything together, and as Rinda says, take your time - we are not going anywhere!

Making a new place your own is time consuming, but so worth the effort! Thanks for taking a moment to keep us updated!

Looks like everything is coming together beautifully! I love your comparision between new house and new baby--very true! Hang in there, Sweetie--you're going to reap the benefits real soon! Love you! xo

Poor Whiskers, he was so at home in the packing boxes :( Before you know it everything will have a place and you will actually remember where that place is :)

Perhaps Whiskers needs a little packing box of his own, in a quiet corner, with a favourite blanket? Poor puss-cat...

But the progress you're making must be pleasing, even while it's hard work. Even from the photos it's obvious you've had lots to keep you both busy. They're great photos, though I'm glad you put the note on the "artistic" shelves one...I was wondering... I have seen diagonally-sloping shelves, for books, which were quite cool, but I did wonder about your crafting tools, on a slope, falling down, getting broken... Then I read the note... Phew!
Have fun, don't work too hard and we'll all be here whenever you get time to "report back" to Blogland! XX
