Pass the Book Winner {and Ranch Dressing}

Part I - Pass the Book

Happy Sunday everyone!
Today is the day I announce the winner of the next round of
sponsored by my lovely Irish friend, Sian.
So without further adieu, the winner is...lucky number 13!!!
Congratulations, Margaret!
I will package up this little goody and send it your way.

Part II - Ranch Dressing

Ah, the things we take for granted. Like assuming that just because ranch dressing is popular where I live, everyone on the planet must know what it is. ;o) Not the case.

Ranch is Doug's salad dressing of choice, and we also like to order a little side of it for French fries when we are eating out. And it's always on hand for dipping whenever there's a vegetable tray.

A quick internet search provides a bunch of links for homemade ranch dressing recipes, and I was delighted to see that The Pioneer Woman has this one posted that you can try if you are so inclined. It sounds yummy, but also sounds like a lot of work when the bottle or a powdered mix is just so easy. {Ok, I'll admit that TPW's recipe probably tastes WAY better than the pre-made stuff...}

Anyway! This gives me an excuse to send a little love in the form of salad dressing to my international friends who may be curious. I'd love to send you a packet of dressing mix if you'd like to give it a try. If you'd like to have one sent your way, be one of the first three readers to leave a comment here saying you'd like to give it a try.  :o)
Peace and love.

Oooh, how exciting! Thanks for finding the Ranch Dressing recipe links for us.
I wonder if it's that stuff they used to have when I went to the USAF base with my parents, when I was a little kid... They used to sometimes have "ham-burgers" (which were beef, not ham!?) and "hot-dogs" (which were sausages, not dogs - phew!); they called it "bar-be-kew" or something!!. There were different sorts of bottles, with interesting and tasty stuff in them...
I would love to try Ranch Dressing, Deb - may I have some, please (even though I already had corn bread), if it's not greedy?

And congratulations to Margaret, for the Pass the Book prize!

Isn't it funny how we forget that some things that are SO normal to us, are unheard of(or at least, untasted) by people in other countries! Having already had 'Ranch' on my US visits, I shall let someone else have the delight of receiving and tasting it!

Curses- I missed it! :-( My lot are addicted to Paul Newman's ranch dressing over here,but you can't always get it everywhere.You are right about thinking some things are so normal to us but not to everybody! x

I'm so excited. Sorry to be so late in getting to this. Computer crazies over here. But I'm half way through the book and loving it.
