I'm finally Passing the Book...

Even though I really want to keep it!

Sian is my sweet blog friend from Ireland and a while back she came up with this great idea to enjoy a book and then offer it up for passing on her blog. The catch is that if you receive the book, you agree to enjoy it and then do the same - Pass the Book.

P1030822-2

Cheri was the first recipient of this particular book, and then I "won" the pass from her blog back in April. It took me a while to wrap my head around it - mostly because when it arrived I was preoccupied with getting ready for a family vacation, and partly because {honestly?} the title made me a little nervous.

Inner Excavation, by Liz Lamoreux.
Hmm...sounds like I'd have to do a little soul searching and coming to grips... which is not always a bad thing, but... you get my drift...

Anyway! Turns out that it was a lovely book that was not only thought provoking, but extremely inspiring as well. Turns out that my girl C has been begging me to let her borrow it but I pulled the mean-mommy card and said no. It's time for passing.

The book is full of beautiful photos and thought provoking prompts that really got me thinking about where I come from and the events that have shaped who I am today. Each chapter provides inspiration for expressing those things through photos, art, and poetry. {And while I'm not including photos in this post of the pieces that I have created as a result of this book, I will tell you that the canvases I've been painting over the past week do reflect some of my inner excavation at work...}
.
So! If you want a chance to enjoy this book for a while, please feel free to leave a comment. And if you are the lucky winner, you agree to enjoy this beauty and then Pass the Book.

I will draw a name in a week - and announce the winner on Tuesday, June 7th.
Good luck!

I'd like to be the lucky winner of Passing the Book - so much better than passing the buck!

As I finish up my senior year of college, questions of what I really want to do next and for the rest of my life have constantly been popping up. I would love the chance to read Inner Excavation too, and hope that her insights can help me figure out an answer to some (if not all) of the questions I have now about "the next step" =)
