A home becomes a house.

I've known for several months that Doug and I would be selling our house and making a move. I've also known that at some point I would share that information on my blog, but wasn't really sure how to go about it.
If we were sharing a cup of coffee I might tell you the basics.

If we were sharing a glass of wine I'd probably give you all the details.

But since we're sharing this blog space, I'll just say, "We're moving"and spare you the details of why and what has led us to this point.
I will tell you that it was a difficult decision, but one that Doug and I are very comfortable with. My initial reaction was one of true sentiment about this house that has been our home for six years. It's a little tricky when you love a house so much...it makes you never want to let it go. A few months ago I was walking around this house, thinking to myself how much I loved this-and-that. And then I realized - "Wait. This-and-that are coming with us!"
And the bottom line is just that.
Wherever Doug and I are together will be home.
Oh, and our cats.
This house is just a house and we're
excited about our future home.
It's all good.

I hope that your move is simple, not stressful and that your new neighbours will appreciate the wonderful people about to move in next door! x

We have moved house 11 times in our married life, and learned early on to think 'it's only bricks and mortar. And it's true..it's who you're with that matters..good luck with the move!

A home is not the roof over your head, it's the foundations under your feet. xx

Home is where the heart is....it's not the house....it's who and what are in it.....I'm sure you'll turn your new house into a wonderful, happy home.

Best of luck with the move Deb - is it local? Or are you pulling up stakes and hitting the road?

Oh, good luck with your move! I will be moving soon too - I love my current house and it wasn't an easy decision but so necessary. I bet I know exactly how you feel. I hope it goes smoothly and you land somewhere you love just as much. :)

Very best of luck to you both wherever you land - I was thinking about you and your move last night, maybe it was right around the time you were posting!

Deb, if anyone can make a home anywhere at all - it's you! You bring it all with you wherever you go.

Your canvas says it all! I hope the move is as stress-free as such events can be. I know it will not take you long to make the new house feel like your home.

A home is where your heart is, not a place, so I am sure you will be really happy wherever you both are (and the cats of course!).

The house diagonally across from me is up for sale if you fancy moving to the UK ;-)
It is a tough decision to make but I am sure you have thought long and hard about it and wherever you go, you will take your memories with you and make the next address as well loved as this one. (especially if you move across the road to me)

We've been there a couple of times but at the end of the day I feel exactly the same as you. I've always said that wherever we live will be home as it's where our family live. I hope everything goes well and that you'll be just as happy in your new home. xx
