Ok, I'm telling you, the She Art class I'm taking is the most fun thing ever. I have LOVED putting paper and paint and ink and stuff onto this canvas and seeing it come to life.
It started with my step-dad's old storybooks, and I wanted to use the circus themed book. The result isn't quite what I expected, but I just couldn't be happier with this fun little piece.
All of the paper used for this project {with the exception of my girl's face and arms} was taken from the old circus book {published 1954} and even though you aren't able to clearly see my base papers, I do love the way all of the colors work together! This inspires me to look at these old storybooks in a different way. I'll be using some of the "less desirable" books for future projects - solely based on the color scheme.
~sigh~
No photo shoot in my craft room is complete without Whiskers butting in.

I have some more empty canvases and a 3-day weekend coming up...see ya' later...I'll be in my craft room... :o)

Deb...this is such fun...love the way you've used the circus papers....the wording is wonderful...and looks great white on black. The whole piece has turned out stunningly...can't wait to see some more.
Wow! Deb this is just fabulous! I love your background and all the colours just work so well together. I am so glad that you took this class, I warn you it becomes addicting:)

I LOVE this! And I still can't believe you came up with that quote all on your own! :)
a terrific job - it is so you, deb!!
I have crafting envy!!! I love it!! It's so clever and adorable!
This is gorgeous - I've just come from Jacky's and that's what I said about hers too! What a class this must be! Christy's blog was one of the first I found when I started scrapbooking, and years later, i'm still in awe of her creativity and energy.
Fabulous
This looks great - enjoy your next one :0)
Beyond creative! Love the sentiment and the layout! Clever girl, that Deb! Hurry and get the others done--can't wait to see them! xo

Gorgeous! you did a beautiful job with that canvas, and the saying is so pretty.
You got me lol with the last pic, my Sammy does the same thing, he can be sleeping on his favorite chair but the moment I set up a project for a photo shoot he jumps on top of the table, got to love our furry friends =D
Beautiful work Debs! I love these canvasses & I've been inspired to start my own art journal too :) xx
This is absolutely fantastic! I love everything about it---and the quote is wonderful.
FAntastic! I love the flags and the high-waisted dress. I love how you know there's circus paper in there and that is what's really important.
