Fifty years ago on April 30, 1961, Ruth was saying good-bye to her grand-daughter, Marti who was 9+ months pregnant. As they parted Ruth chimed, "Looks like you'll be having a May-bee."
And my great-grandmother was right. I was born the following day, on May 1st, 1961. Thus began an annual tradition of my mom writing "Happy Birthday to my May-bee" in every birthday card she's ever given me.
Turns out, even my name {Deborah} means Queen Bee, so it seemedvery appropriate for Carrie to throw a bee-themed 50th birthday
party for me {yesterday} with some of our sweet scrapbook friends.
So that's my story, short and sweet.
Ah! I do love my birthday.
